In 1997, Ronaldo became the youngest winner of the Ballon d’Or at 21. The following summer, his nation Brazil was thrashed 3-0 by France in the
1998 FIFA World Cup Final in Paris. Zinedine Zidane’s first half brace, Thierry Henry’s iconic photo kissing the World Cup trophy wearing R9’s jersey. By the next FIFA World Cup in 2002, Ronaldo had his eyes on his second World Cup trophy. With two goals in the 2002 World Cup Final, Brazil became champions for a record 5 times. The rest, is history.
