This World Cup, we’re giving back to the game where it all begins.

⚽ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Wales Women 3–1 Czech Republic 🇨🇿 ⚽

What a fantastic evening for AFC Abercynon Girls and their families as we travelled to Cardiff City Stadium to support Wales Women in their final match of their World Cup qualification.

The girls were able to watch their heroes in action as Wales secured an impressive 3-1 victory over the Czech Republic to finish top of their group. The atmosphere was incredible and it was inspiring for our young players to see women’s football being played on such a big stage.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the trip such a success.

The trip was made even more special through Tempo Time Credits Cymru. Our volunteers, both adults and children, were able to use their time credits they had earned through volunteering activities, including, coaching, litter picks and community projects, to cover the cost of transport to the game.

Tempo Time Credits are a fantastic way to recognise and reward volunteering. By giving your time to help your community, you can earn credits that can be exchanged for a wide range of activities, events and experiences.

To help raise money towards our end-of-season presentation event, we’re running a World Cup Sweepstake!

🏆 £10 per team
🌍 48 teams available
🎥 Teams will be allocated via a live draw once all teams have been sold.

Prizes:
🥇 Winner - £150
🥈 Runner-up - £80

This will also raise £250 towards the girls’ presentation event.

🌟 Volunteers’ Week 2026 🌟

A huge thank you to all the children, parents and volunteers from AFC Abercynon who gave up their time to help clean up our community through our recent litter picks. 💚🖤

It was fantastic to see so many families working together to make a positive difference to the places where we live, play and learn.

As well as helping the community, those taking part were also earning Tempo Time Credits Cymru, which they will be using towards our trip to watch the Wales Women v Czech Republic match next week. ⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Tempo Time Credits are a great way of recognising and rewarding volunteering. By giving your time to help others, you can earn credits that can be exchanged for a wide range of activities, events and experiences.

We’re delighted to share that AFC Abercynon Girls have been selected for the Tesco Stronger Starts community vote 🎉

Our project, “Abercynon Girls Growing Hub”, will create a small community allotment and equipment hub where the girls can grow food, learn healthy living skills and take part in positive activities with local families 🌱⚽
