Since 2017 we have supported 46 community buildings through the Micro Fund grant scheme.

Do you have a project, improvement or a service in mind for your building, get in touch now to apply for a grant of up to £5,000 before deadline in mid-August!!

So far we have funded all sorts of things from roof repairs to old fire station owned by Hirwaun & Penderyn Community Council that is used as local garden shop for the community to sauna installations at community gym in Rhigos Rhigos SportsHall

We have supported craft group based at Noddfa Community Centre Glyncorrwg and provided equipment for Tonmawr RFC

In the last round we funded new equipment to benefit all users at the Cabin Cwmgwrach Amateur Boxing Club as well as part funding renovations for clubhouse at Resolven AFC Ltd. - Cam Gears Club

Treorchy Male Choir received a grants to make their base COVID safe and ready for them to safely get back together and Ynyswen Miners Welfare Hall obtained funding to decorate and update the Hall.

Other community buildings that have received a Micro Fund grant include: Gwynfi Miners Community Hall / Côr Meibion Morlais Hall / Aberdare Rugby Club and many more

Great news
From the 15th of may we will be opening the Gym and Hall.
Gym facilities will operate on only 2 persons allowed inside and 2 persons allowed in weights room at a time, bookings must be made my telephone and are 45 minute slots for covid cleaning to be done after use.
Please be aware that no bags are to be taken, use of own towel and bring your own hydration.
Hall Hire will be allowed for a maximum of 15 that is to include coaches and trainers, please phone for bookings subject to availability.

We will being running track and trace and working with in accordance of the government guidelines of COVID19 to keep every one safe. Masks must be worn while entering and hands sanitised.

ALLAN WOODWARD GYM IS OPEN

Friday 18th September 2015 was a magic day for Rhigos Sports Hall when legendary Wales flanker, Dai Morris officially opened the new Weights Gym. Dai Morris, the finest sportsman or woman to come from the village said that he was delighted to open this facility which he hoped would improve the health and fitness of current and future generations of Rhigos young men and women. Weights Room

The new Weights Room is open. Ben Male has been running inductions and over 20 people were inducted during the first 2 weeks of the price holiday deal that we introduced so people could suck it and see. From Monday August 3rd we started to charge users at monthly rate of £20 for Rhigos residents and £25 for everyone else or £2.50 per session. [ 123 more words. ]

Weights Room

Free weights have been acquired and Richard Smith has installed them all. We are now just going to build the machines we had from the old Sobells Centre and we should be ready to open. We are all getting really excited about the opening and hoping the Weights Room will be a valuable addition to the facilities available here at Rhigos. Big thanks to Richard, Jonny and Ian Smith, Duane Dudley, Steve Davies and Ben Male for all their help to date.

TOWER FUND Allan Woodward our representative on the Tower Fund is delighted to announce that the Sports Hall was awarded a grant of £1500 to help develop 3 new classes of different fitness methods. The classes to take place on weekday afternoons in the New Year 2015. The grant will help support each class for 20 weeks. We are seeking out instructors to deliver the exercise classes.
