Last night we attended Northamptonshire Sport’s Active Together and UK Coaching’s Buddle Learning – Developing an Inclusive Environment.

As a training company, learning and development are at the heart of what we do — but we’re also still actively teaching and coaching within our own sports. That makes conversations around inclusion especially important to us.

We had the pleasure of learning alongside people from football, swimming, squash, goalball and jogging, sharing different experiences and perspectives.

Why does inclusion matter?

Because sport should be a place where everyone has the opportunity to participate, feel valued and belong.

It’s not enough to open the door. We need to understand and remove the barriers that may prevent people from walking through it.

A really valuable evening with plenty to take back into both our training and our own coaching practice. 💙

This Wednesday 16 September, we’re heading poolside to join an Aquacise class — chatting to participants about why they come, what keeps them coming back and what Aquacise gives them beyond exercise.

We’ll also hear from an STA Aquacise Instructor about the impact a great class can have on confidence, connection, wellbeing and keeping people active.

💦🕺 POOL PREP… but make it BONKERS! 💃😂

A little behind-the-scenes peek at us getting everything ready to welcome you! ✨

There may be some highly questionable dance moves going on 🤪 — because apparently bonkers dancing is not necessarily the best thing — but behind all the silliness, there’s something VERY important happening… 🧪💦

We’re testing the pool water and checking the chemical levels BEFORE it’s used, making sure everything is just right and the pool is safe and ready for you to jump in! 🏊‍♀️🙌

So yes… we might be a little bonkers.
Our dancing might need work. 😂
But pool safety? We take that VERY seriously. 💙

A woggle bridge 🌉
A pond 🐸
A snake 🐍
A pirate ship 🏴‍☠️

And swimming teachers… go with it!

Because what looks like woggle madness is actually confidence, movement, creativity and learning through play. 💦

💚 This is what National Inclusion Week means to us.

For us, inclusion isn’t a statement, a policy or simply saying “everyone is welcome.”

It’s being willing to listen, learn, reflect and keep improving so that the people who come through our doors genuinely feel that they belong.

That’s why this National Inclusion Week, we’re spending three evenings learning with Active Partnerships, exploring:

🧠 Neurodivergence Inclusion in Community Sport
🤝 Positive Experiences for All People
🌍 Developing an Inclusive Environment

We work with people from all walks of life, with different experiences, needs and barriers to taking part. We won’t always have all the answers — but we can keep learning.

And that’s the important bit for us.

What we learn this week won’t stay on a call. We’ll take it back into our own training, the way we engage with people, and the experiences we create for our communities.

Because inclusion isn’t about expecting people to fit into what already exists.

It’s about asking what we can change so more people can belong, participate and have a positive experience. 💚

That’s what National Inclusion Week means to us.
