My name is Claire Bowmar. I am a professionally qualified and insured massage therapist. I specialise in sports injuries and posture related pain prevention.
I am ITEC and VTCT trained and am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapies. I have always been a keen sports person having trained twice a day swimming up to national level, as well as running up to county level and more recently competing and qualifying my horse in dressage competitions. I am a member of the East Midlands Dressage Group and compete as often as time allows. It was my ridin
g that led me to the sports massage in the first place. I was not performing to the level that was required and I realised that my posture was affecting my performance and my ability to win. It was not untill I had regular treatment that I understood how important sports massage is and how much it can improve performance. I set off to train to become a sports massage therapist. I continue to train today, and I am now in my 4th year of my degree at Keele University to become a qualified Osteopath. Regular massage helps your performance, reduces the risk of injury and if you are unfortunate enough to pick up an injury, then having prompt treatment can help you make a quick recovery. I have treated a variety of people including international sports professionals, amateur sports and non sports people. As well as sports massage I am also qualified in Swedish massage and advanced body massage.
