Todays game is one to forget. We seemed to struggle with alot of different things, no real composure, no intensity, not much comumincation. We seemed like none of the girls had played in a team together before. Generally frustrating for all, even the girls knew it was nowhere near the level they've been at. There was some little glimpses of what we can do when we lift our heads up and passed and moved but there wasnt much of it. When we did, we got some shots off. We didnt have any subs and we had a couple of players playing with injuries. Our defence helped us out alot and some great saves from Ebbs saved us from an heavier defeat. Goals from Jessie and Izzy. Player of the match was Isabella, who covered so much ground, trying to create moments and never gave up. Well deserved. Let's put this game to the back of our minds and start a fresh next week 👊⚽️🥅🏆

Start of a new season and a great result against a team that finished second in the league last seaon. We had to defend for large parts of the game, but the girls did it brilliantly. Coalville was a very good, strong, physical side that threw everything at us. The defence was fantastic, the midfield got themselves back to help defend and Ebbs in goal was outstanding. Wingers and attackers created chances, some great passing and moving, we switched play from one side to another well. Final score: sleetmoor 1 Coalville 1. Players of the match, Ebony in goal kept us in the game with some brilliant saves, she came of her line so quick, read the game and plenty of communication. And 2nd player of the match was Maddison ( Maddog) who put in a shift from start to finish, defensivley outstanding, controlled and organised her back line, linked up solidly with with the defenders and midfielders and supported the team as all the girls did. Incredible start to what we know is going to be a tough season. Well done girls 👊⚽️🥅🏆

RIP Noah 💔🕊️

Sleetmoor United are heartbroken to hear of the passing of 13-year-old Noah Toplis, a cherished member of our football club.

To honour Noah's memory, all teams will be participating in a minute's silence prior to their opening matches this season.

Our U14 Barca's manager, Tim, wished to say a few words on his time knowing Noah:

"Noah was an extremely popular member of the team who simply loved playing football. He never missed a training session or a match, and he gave everything, every time. His pace and his willingness to run were commented on by opposition coaches more than once, and he impressed so much in his first season that he won Coach's Player of the Year.

We'll remember the nervous smile before kick off and the beaming one after he'd scored or we'd got a result. He was an outstanding young man and he will be sorely missed by everyone involved with the team. We'll hold on to all the good times and the laughs we shared in our short time together.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends."

Rest in peace, Noah. You will always be remembered at Sleetmoor United and will be forever in our hearts ❤️

Tonight we say see you later to one of our OGs Evelyn who’s moving to Belgium 🇧🇪❤️

Evelyn has been a fantastic player, captain and role model to all the girls. It’s been a joy to watch her grow over the years both on and off the pitch, and an absolute pleasure to coach her. She’s been such an important part of the team and will be very much missed by us all.

Wishing you the very best for this next chapter Evelyn, Go smash it in Belgium! 🇧🇪⚽️❤️

All set for the upcoming season

Absolutely fantastic performance today from everyone, Dominated the game from start to finish. Some fantastic 1 and 2 touch passing, great passing and moving, great link ups and plenty of goals on show. Defensively we was solid throughout, midfield, we closed the opposition in and stopped them playing there game for large parts of it. We spread the play nicely, using the width of the pitch and the wingers caused constent problems all game. A couple of new players making there 1st outing, Luna in goal, did extremely well considering she was very nervous commanded her box, came off her line sharpish and made some good saves. Caitlin caused the opposition so many problems, down the wing and through the middle, scoring 2 goals and getting an hat-trick of assists which deservedly earned her the player of the match. Every player gave everything. Fitness we thought would be a worry, having no tournaments and this being there first friendly since the end of the season. But the girls smashed it. Super proud coaches.

What a fantastic way to round off another brilliant season! We are incredibly proud of every single player for their hard work, commitment, determination and team spirit throughout the year. It was wonderful to celebrate all of your achievements together.

You've all been a huge part of the team, and we wish you every success and happiness for the future. You'll always be part of the Sleetmoor family. 💙

Today we faced Buxton for the third time this season, and just like the previous 2 games, they gave us a game. We started of a little nervous, and resorted into just smashing the ball away. When we settled and started to move the ball around, we played some good football. From a goal kick we got the ball up the pitch into the path of Karys who the played a lovely ball over the top and into the path of Eleanor, who shot first time and with a bit of a fumble from the keeper, the ball ended up in the back of the net to give us a 0-1 lead. We created a few more chances which saw Karys come close to scoring and Jessie who come close too. Buxton then lost a player to injury which left them to play out the remaining of the game with 10 players. Second half, Buxton played like we was the team with ten players, pressing us and forcing us in to mistakes but our defence stood strong. Eventually Buxton pressure brought reward, as they played a cross in through 2 of our defenders and an effort which was first blocked but the rebound was buried in the bottom corner to even the score. Buxton came close not long after to minning it, but thanks to Ebbs being ing the right place gathered up the ball. We nearly nicked it towards the end from a corner that was ripped in by Kitty and a flick on by Karys just evading the near post. Excellent performance from both teams but we have to give massive credit to Buxton for not giving up when going down to ten players. POTM was Evelyn Connor, outstanding performance played a few positions, and her effort throughout the entire season has never dropped. 1 more game of the season to go, let's put it all in for the final game. 👊⚽️🥅🏆

As the season comes close to the end, our next challenge was a game against high flying Hilton Harriers. We started the game with a bare 11 players, 1 who is carrying an hip injury and a couple who havent been well the last few days so we knew we would be in a battle. We got off to a great start with Ebbs long kick out of her hands saw Elanor run on to the ball, and at first looked like she had took it to wide when the keeper closed her angles down but Elanor squeezed it in from a tight angle to give us a lead. The scoreline got even better moments later when Kitty thread the ball through and top scorer izzy steele gliding through the defence to poke the ball in the back of the net to score our second and make it look quite comfortable. Unfortunately that was short lived has Hilton hit back with 2 Swift goals to bring the scores all level. The referee wasn't really giving either team anything. Hilton was very physical, pulling players back, tripping players, elbowing players, 1 player should have been carded when she deliberately took out isabella, the ref did award a free kick but the challenge went unpunished. The second half we saw Hilton coming on strong and putting us under more pressure but saw us defend well and Ebbs made some good saves to keep the scores level. We then took advantage from a long throw in, in which izzy steele flicked the ball on and Jessie to score her first goal for the team in only her second appearance. After that it was was Hilton that a good spell in the game going on and scoring 4 goals in which we had no reply. The girls gave it there all but the last 15 minutes saw energy levels drop and hilton took advantage. Final score:- Hilton 6 Sleetmoor 3. The girls was battered and bruised but never gave up, we also saw Jessie get deliberately elbowed in the head that went unpunished either. As coaches we couldn't have asked the girls for anymore. Super proud of each and everyone of them. POTM was Issabella Warras who fought for everything, played some great balls in over the top, picked out some great passes and never backed out of a challenge as well as played through the pain of her hip problem to show that she's willing do put it all in for her team no matter what. Excellent effort girls. Our next game sees us away at Buxton. Well done girls 👊⚽️🥅🏆
