đĽ Vixen Swifts vs Wi******er Hawks â The Rematch
The sequel to an entertaining draw that could have gone either way
The posters were up. The crowd was buzzing. Just weeks after their first meeting â an entertaining draw that swung back and forth like a classic bout â the Vixen Swifts stepped back into the ring with the Wi******er Hawks. Same rivals. Same energy. But this time, both sides wanted the win that slipped through their gloves last time.
đĽ Round 1 â The First Half
The coachesâ message was clear:
Start fast. Start confident. Land the first punches.
The Vixens came out firing, sharp and aggressive, picking up exactly where they left off in the first encounter. Wi******er absorbed the early pressure, weathered the storm, and slowly grew into the contest.
Then came the counterpunch.
Wi******er found a gap and struck the opener â a clean jab that put them 1â0 up and momentarily stunned the home crowd.
But the Vixens donât stay on the canvas.
They surged forward again, playing on the front foot with renewed purpose. Rubie threaded a perfect through-ball to Jenny, who burst into the box with the crowd rising behind her â but the finishing blow just wouldnât land. Agonisingly close.
The bell rang for half-time.
The rematch was heating up.
---
đĽ Round 2 â The Second Half
The Vixens came out swinging.
Midfield stepped higher, the tempo lifted, and the pressure mounted. Ball after ball was slipped in behind, and the Hawks suddenly found themselves pinned against the ropes.
Then came the equaliser.
Jenny, relentless and fearless, delivered the punch the Vixens had been threatening â a well-deserved goal that levelled the score and reignited the arena.
Wi******er tried to regain control, but the Vixensâ defence â Izzy, Indie, Freya C, and Emily â stood firm, blocking shots and clearing danger like seasoned fighters protecting their chin. Even the forwards dropped in, working tirelessly to turn defence into counterattacks.
But every rematch has its twist.
A brief lapse from a throw-in allowed Wi******er to sneak in behind and land the decisive blow â a tidy finish that made it 2â1. The Vixens fought bravely to the final bell, but the Hawks edged this one on points.

The day the Vixens finally woke up.

đ
A New Dawn for the Vixens
After weeks of battling weather, postponements, and stopâstart momentum, the Vixens stepped onto the pitch for their first league game of 2026 with something different in their stride. Maybe it was the sunshine. Maybe it was the hunger. Maybe it was the sense that this was the moment to spark their season into life.
Whatever it was⌠the Vixens woke up.
---
đĽ First Half â The Stirring
From the first whistle, the Vixens looked sharp. The midfield trio of Sav, Scarlett and Sophia knitted play together beautifully, threading clever passes in behind the Wi******er back line for Taiya, Freya E and Rubie to chase.
The defenceâEmily, Freya C, Indie and Izzyâheld firm, stepping in with confidence and playing out with purpose. It was controlled, composed, and competitive.
When Wi******er did break through they met the wall in Ivy D in goal.
But football can be cruel. A brief lapse in concentration gifted Wi******er the opener.
The response? No panic. No heads down. Just grit. The Vixens kept battling, kept pressing, and kept believing.
The awakening had begun.
---
⥠Second Half â Fully Awake
If the first half was a stir, the second half was a roar.
The Vixens came out flying, pinning Wi******er back and playing with a fire that hasnât been seen since the tail end of last season. Every duel was won. Every second ball was claimed. Every attack carried threat.
Then came the moment.
A sweeping move down the right ended with Jenny arriving at the back post, only to be wiped out by the onrushing keeper. Stonewall penalty.
Up stepped Rubieâcalm, focused, fearless.
Bottom corner. Keeper sent the wrong way.
1â1. The Vixens were alive.
From there, it felt like only one team would go on to win it. Taiya terrorised defenders, Sophia and Scarlett bossed midfield, and the back line stood tall as Wi******er threw bodies forward in the final minutes.
And when Wi******er did break through, Ivy was thereâsafe hands, brave decisions, and total composure.
A point earned. A statement made.
---
𧥠A Team Reborn
Against the leagueâs 3rdâplaced side, the Vixens didnât just competeâthey controlled large spells, showed character, and proved theyâre far better than their current position suggests.
With games in hand and momentum finally shifting, this feels like more than a draw.
It feels like the spark.
It feels like the moment the Vixens woke up.

âď¸ Match Report: A Frozen Afternoon in Andover âď¸
It was a scene straight out of Frozen in Andover â cold, wet, and the kind of afternoon where even Elsa might have thought twice about stepping outside. But the Vixens werenât about to âlet it go.â With no subs, no recognised goalkeeper, and rain turning the pitch into a slippery tundra, they braved the elements with grit and spirit.
đž Pre-match chores
Before the whistle even blew, the team had already shown commitment â dog poo duty completed with efficiency. That set the tone: whatever the challenge, the Vixens would face it head-on.
â˝ First-half battle
The opening half was a classic end-to-end tussle. Chances came at both goals, but the rain-slick ball and determined defending kept the scoreline frozen at 0-0. Tactical versatility was on full display, with players swapping into goal and shifting positions to plug gaps.
đ§ď¸ Second-half drama
Eventually, the icy breakthrough came. A sharp through ball sliced the Vixensâ back line: 0-1. Soon after, the slippery ball skidded its way into the net again: 0-2. Lesser teams might have wilted, but the Vixens responded by cranking up the pressure. Goal-mouth scrambles defied physics â how the ball didnât cross the line remains a mystery worthy of VAR and a physics textbook.
đŞ Spirit to the end
As legs tired and the rain poured, the Vixens kept battling. Every player deserves mention for giving their all in brutal conditions.
⢠CGOTM (Coaches Girl of the Match): Tayia, Rubie, and Jen â stepping into tough roles with courage.
⢠OPGOTM (Opposition Girl of the Match): Jen and Freya E â recognised for their resilience and impact up front.
âď¸ Final word
No subs, no GK, no problem. On a cold, rainy Andover afternoon, the Vixens showed that spirit and teamwork shine brighter than any scoreboard.

đ° Match Report: Swift Vixens Show Grit in 4â4 Thriller Against Bournemouth Sports Lionesses
Andover New Street Youth FC U13 Swift Vixens 4 â 4 Bournemouth Sports Youth U13 Lionesses
Scorers: Jenny (2), Amelia, Brooke
In a match that had everythingâgoals, grit, and a generous helping of controversyâthe U13 Swift Vixens delivered a performance full of heart and hunger, battling to a 4â4 draw against Bournemouth Sports Lionesses in a game they deserved to win.
â˝ First Half: A Rollercoaster Opening
The Vixens started slowly and were punished early, going 1â0 down. But the response was immediate and emphaticâAmelia pounced within a minute of the restart, slotting home the equaliser and igniting the Vixensâ spark.
Jenny then took centre stage, firing the Vixens into a 2â1 lead with a composed finish. Just as momentum was building, a dubious free kick awarded to Bournemouth saw the visitors draw level at 2â2. Moments later, a rare lapse in concentrationâjust 15 seconds of hesitationâled to a turnover and Bournemouth capitalised to sn**ch a 3â2 lead before the break.
đĽ Second Half: Vixens Unleashed
Whatever was said in the dressing room worked wonders. The Vixens came out flying, pressing high and playing with purpose. Brooke, full of energy and invention, smashed in the equaliser to make it 3â3 and swing the momentum back.
Jenny, relentless and razor-sharp, struck again to restore the lead at 4â3, her second of the day and a goal that epitomised the Vixensâ attacking intent.
But football can be cruel. A drop in intensity allowed Bournemouth back into the game, and another questionable free kickâthis one even more bafflingâled to the Lionesses levelling at 4â4.
Then came the most dramatic moment of the match: a harsh penalty awarded to Bournemouth. Tension gripped the sidelinesâbut justice prevailed as the spot-kick flew over, leaving the score locked at 4â4.
đ
Player Highlights
⢠Opposition GOTM: Brooke â a constant threat and deserved recognition from the away side.
⢠Coaches GOTM: Indie â a rock at the back, calm under pressure, and a leader throughout.
đŁď¸ Final Whistle Thoughts
The Vixens were the better side across the 70 minutesâmore composed, more creative, and more determined. But a string of questionable officiating decisions denied them the full reward their performance merited. Still, the character shown, especially in the second half, was nothing short of inspiring.
This was a statement performance from a team growing in confidence and cohesion. The Vixens may not have taken all three points, but they left the pitch with heads held highâand a fire in their boots for the next match.
