Great to see all the local talent on display in the Testway League u7s. A great memorial tribute to an amazing individual who devoted so many years to local youth football. ❤️⚽️

Hello Andover,

Urgent safeguarding concerns have arisen following a recent increase in young people entering derelict or abandoned buildings in the local area.

We are asking for parents support in reminding your child/children of the very real dangers associated with entering these buildings. Many young people underestimate the risks or believe that “nothing will happen” however, emergency services have responded to several local incidents where individuals have been injured or trapped.

Derelict buildings commonly contain a range of hazardous conditions, including:
• Asbestos – fibres can cause severe respiratory illnesses.
• Mould and damp – can trigger allergic reactions.
• Broken glass and sharp metal – can cause serious injuries.
• Drug paraphernalia – needles and syringes pose infection and injury risks.
• Unsafe or collapsing floors – can lead to falls, fractures, or entrapment.

We would be grateful if you could:
• Share this message with your children at home.
• Report any known hotspots or concerns to local authorities, community safety teams, or the police.

Our priority is to prevent harm and ensure that young people understand these environments are not safe to explore under any circumstances.

Thank you,
PC 30287 Davidson and PC 30326 Rawlins
