Tomorrow we welcome Barnard Castle to Derwent Park for Round 1 of the Alan Hood Charity Cup. 🏆

There’s nothing quite like cup football, so we’d love to see plenty of people down at the Plain getting behind the lads and supporting their local grassroots club. 💙

That’s our John, who has just won Groundsman of the Year with Durham FA, alongside his good lady Anne. John puts hours upon hours into looking after our ground, while Anne is a fantastic support too — cleaning the changing rooms, coming in through the week and quietly getting on with all sorts of jobs that need doing.

They really are part of the backbone of Annfield Plain AFC, and we’re very lucky to have them both. 💙

Today we hosted our last car boot sale of the year at Derwent Park and we thank all our sellers and buyers for coming along. Thanks also to all our food and drink vendors. More car boot sales are planned for next year.
Then this afternoon we hosted a charity match in honour of Laura Jane Turnbull who sadly passed away recently. We thank Mark and also his and Laura's family for attending at this very difficult time for them all and everyone else who attended. We thank the players who turned up and played and our friend Chris Shield for refereeing the game. We thank everyone who donated raffle prizes and those that bought tickets too. The money raised will be put to good use by Mark and his family.
Thanks to Ryan for helping organise the match and for sorting a lovely Memorial Cup that will now be played for every year in memory of Laura ❤️
We'd also like to thank everyone else who has helped us today in running these 2 events as without your help we wouldn't be able to do it.
