💙 As Drowning Prevention Week comes to a close, we're reflecting on the skills, confidence and understanding that help children enjoy the water safely.

Throughout the week, in partnership with RLSS UK, we've shared messages about:

🌊 Building confidence in and around water

🌊 Knowing what to do if you unexpectedly fall into water

🌊 Understanding the Water Safety Code

🌊 Developing a healthy respect for water

While Drowning Prevention Week lasts for just one week, these lessons last much longer.

Every time a child steps into the pool, they have the opportunity to learn something new. Whether that's swimming a little further, growing in confidence, understanding water safety, or simply enjoying being in the water, every experience helps build foundations for the future.

At TLE, we're passionate about creating positive experiences that help children develop a lifelong love of the water. Because when children feel confident, supported and informed, they're better equipped to enjoy everything that swimming and water-based activities have to offer.

Thank you to our teachers, swimmers, families and everyone who has supported Drowning Prevention Week.

Let's keep the conversation going and continue helping more children enjoy the water safely, confidently and for life. 💙

💙 Water safety starts with simple habits.

As part of Drowning Prevention Week, one of our swimming teachers Ram is highlighting the importance of understanding and following the Water Safety Code.

Water can be a fantastic place to learn, have fun and build confidence, but it's important that we always treat it with respect and make safe choices.

The Water Safety Code reminds us to:

Whenever around water:
💧 Stop and Think
💧 Stay Together

In an emergency:
💧 Float
💧 Call 999

Ram's message is simple: stay calm, listen carefully to instructions, and never underestimate the importance of knowing what to do if something doesn't go to plan.

Whether children are attending swimming lessons, spending time at the pool, or enjoying a day out near water with family and friends, these simple principles can help keep everyone safer.

At TLE, we help children develop these skills every week through positive experiences in the water, building not only swimming ability but also the confidence and awareness that support lifelong water safety.

Take a few minutes to learn the Water Safety Code with your family. It could make all the difference in an emergency. 💙

💙 Drowning Prevention Week 💙

Water can look calm, familiar and inviting, but it should never be underestimated.

Today, TLE Swimming Teacher, Open Water Lifeguard and Open Water Swimmer David is reminding everyone of a few simple steps that could make all the difference when swimming outdoors.

✔️ Enter the water slowly and allow your body time to adjust to the temperature.

✔️ Never dive into open water. You can't always see what's beneath the surface.

✔️ Swim within your own ability. Don't feel pressured to keep up with stronger or more experienced swimmers.

✔️ Even on a warm day, the water can be cold. If you experience cold water shock, float on your back, focus on your breathing and recover before calling for help.

✔️ Always take a moment to check your surroundings and think about how you'll enter and exit the water safely.

Learning to swim is important, but understanding how to stay safe around water is a life skill that everyone should have.

Please take a moment this Drowning Prevention Week to talk about water safety with your family and friends.

💙 Swimming lessons teach more than swimming.

As part of Drowning Prevention Week, we're shining a light on the many life skills children develop every time they step into the pool.

Of course, learning to swim is important. But every lesson is also an opportunity to build awareness, decision-making, confidence and respect for the water.

Children learn how to move safely in and around the pool, how to recognise risks, how to stay calm when faced with a challenge and how to make safer choices around water.

These lessons don't just help create stronger swimmers. They help create safer, more confident individuals who can enjoy the water for years to come.

At TLE, we're proud to support children on that journey, helping them develop skills that extend far beyond the pool itself.

In partnership with RLSS UK, Drowning Prevention Week reminds us that water safety starts with education, understanding and positive experiences.

Because every lesson teaches something valuable – and sometimes the most important things aren't measured in metres swum. 🌊

What has swimming taught your child beyond learning a stroke? We'd love to hear your stories below. 👇💙

💧 What would you do if you unexpectedly fell into water?

As part of Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK Drowning Prevention Week, our swimming teacher Irina shares an important water safety message about staying calm and knowing what to do if you find yourself in difficulty.

One of the key messages is simple: Float to Live.

If you unexpectedly enter water, your first instinct may be to panic. Taking a moment to control your breathing and float can help you stay safe and make better decisions about what to do next.

At TLE, water safety isn't something we talk about once a year. It's woven throughout our swimming lessons in many different ways. Alongside developing confidence and swimming ability, we help children build the knowledge, awareness and life skills that can keep them safer in and around water.

Every lesson is an opportunity to learn something that could make a difference.

Take a moment to watch Irina's video and help us share this important message during Drowning Prevention Week.

💙 The most important thing a child learns in swimming isn't always a swimming skill.

As part of RLSS Drowning Prevention Week, we're celebrating the skills that help children build a positive relationship with the water from an early age.

It's confidence.

The confidence to try something new.

The confidence to put their face in the water for the first time.

The confidence to swim that little bit further.

The confidence to believe, "I can do this."

Every achievement in the pool starts with confidence, which is why creating positive experiences sits at the heart of everything we do.

When children feel supported, encouraged and safe, they're more willing to explore, learn and develop a lifelong love of the water.

In partnership with the Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK Drowning Prevention Week helps raise awareness of the skills and understanding that allow children to enjoy the water safely, both now and in the future.

Because great swimming journeys don't start with perfect technique.

They start with confidence. 🌊

What's been your child's biggest swimming achievement so far? We'd love to hear it below. 👇💙
