Another away game today saw the team travel to a windy Prestwick Academy to play Troon FC.

First half we were a bit flat and not at the level we have been recently, but still an even game finishing 1-1 at the break.
We’d opened the scoring after a clever diagonal run and good finish from Vanya only to gift an equaliser via a penalty.

Second half into the strong wind the boys were far better - passed the ball with more quality and kept the ball on the ground far more often.
We took the lead after a mistake from the keeper passing it out but credit to Jayden for reacting quickly to slot it home.
Chances were now opening up for us and a combination of good saves, a goal line clearance and missing from close range kept the game tight until a cleverly worked free kick resulted in Jay finishing from close range to put the game to bed.

Another very decent performance - 3 points and up the road!

Yesterday the team travelled to a wet and windy Auchinleck to play a strong Talbot in the league.

After a bright opening the referee booked our player on 3 minutes for asking a question then on 13 minutes he saw fit to show a second yellow and therefore a red card for what he thought was a dive but was actually a poor challenge in the box. We thought he’d given the penalty but alas no! His stud marked ankle was of no interest to the referee unfortunately.

However the boys simply took it on the chin and didn’t let that affect the way they approached the game.

A fantastic team effort and lots of really good football played - they showed great resilience to come from behind twice to even up the score.
To the casual observer you wouldn’t think they were a man short as the boys continued to pass the ball around superbly creating lots of attacking opportunities but just failed to get the crucial breakthrough despite hitting the bar and coming close on a number of occasions.

Just when we thought they’d done enough for the draw, our CB made a rash challenge in the box in the last minute of extra time - conceding a penalty which Talbot finished well into the bottom corner for the winner.

No time left to pull it back and so it ended a 3-2 defeat but we can’t fault any of the team - to a man they were excellent and showed their quality throughout.

A very sore result but still overall delighted by what we watched from them.

The entire team voted Men of the Match as it would be too difficult to single anyone out!
