AYFL 2 Match Day 5🏆

Saturday 3rd October 26

On Saturday we faced Cumnock Juniors Colts 2013’s at Townhead Park.
After a mixed start to the season we knew this game wouldn’t be easy & is always a goals fest when we face each other this one being no different.

Boswell were right at it from the start our press, passing & creativity causing problems. A free kick won on halfway was played into the channel & Struan cut the ball back for Jayden to open the scoring 0-1 . Boswell doubled the lead through Layton who went on a great run & neatly finished beyond keeper 0-2 . Jayden then timed his run perfectly knocked the ball past the goalkeeper who took him down, Jayden stepped up & made it 0-3. Cumnock were far from out this match & were pushing to get back in but we limited the chances in first half HT 0-3.

2nd half Cumnock came out the traps early creating a few chances & after some pinball in the Boswell box it ended up in the net for 1-3 OG. Boswell found ourselves scrapping more the 2nd half than playing our game however we were standing strong & looking good on the counter attack this is exactly how we found out 4th Layton down the left wing with a great run into box only to be taken down for our 2nd penalty. Rocco stepped up to make it 1-4,Cumnock kept going and made it a nervy ending for Boswell as they added a 2nd & 3rd before it was full time. FT 3-4.

We wish Layton a speedy recovery after he broke his arm & wrist during the match.

AYFL 2 Match Day 4 🏆

Saturday 26th September 26

We hosted Kilwinning Rangers Blues 2013s. We expected a tough match & that’s exactly what it was boys never really got going first half & Kilwinning started quickly striking the bar with a free-kick early on & not long after the warning they scored 1-0. They continued with the pressure & doubled the lead not long after through a penalty 2-0 Half Time.

2nd half we changed shape more & began to cause Kilwinning problems but couldn’t find the net. Kilwinning then made it 3-0 from a well worked corner. That didn’t stop Boswell as we kept pushing to try get back into the game we won a freekick 25 yards out Rocco stepped up made it 3-1 and that’s how it finished.

AYFL 2 Match Day 3 🏆

Saturday 19th September 26

On Saturday we were at home to Cambusdoon Colts 2013 after a mixed start to our league campaign Boswell were hoping to kick start ourselves into the form of last season. In typical Scottish fashion the weather went from sun to heavy wind & rain however that didn’t effect the boys we’d asked for a fast start & that we certainly did Jayden got us up & running, followed by Cammy scoring directly from a corner not long after Struan scored with a great finish near post & Jayden added a 4th within 30 mins. Cambusdoon weren’t going to let the Boswell storm stop them from giving it a right go creating a couple of chances before scoring right on half time 4-1.

2nd half Cambusdoon came out with a great attitude & desire to try get back into the match however the Boswell defence & goalie limited the chances. Cambusdoon scored a good long range strike to make it 4-2 & could’ve made it a nervy end if Boswell let the heads go down but that wasn’t to be & shortly after we scored a 5th through another brilliant finish from Kevin Full Time 5-2.

Thanks to Cambusdoon Colts 2013s for the match & look forward to meeting again this year.

Man of the match Awards this week were 4 Players joint through our Parents Vote.

Scottish Cup Round 1 🏆

We travelled to West Kilbride for our first ever fixture there in the first round of the Scottish Cup.

Unfortunately the boys didn’t start well and were 2 goals down in only 3 minutes.

To their credit they didn’t let that affect them at all, and continued to play the good football they have been recently, on what was a very tricky grass surface.

The goalkeeper from West Kilbride had an excellent match, and managed to keep us at bay. We deservedly went in level at HT though after Jayden and Owen grabbed a goal each.

Into 2nd half we keep attacking and only good goalkeeping kept us out. We managed to take the lead again through Owen with 5 mins left.

Unfortunately this wasn’t the last goal of the game though and West Kilbride equalised in the last minute, taking us to penalties.

It wasn’t to be out day though, losing 4 - 3 in the shoot out.

Congratulations to West Kilbride and all the best the next round of the cup.
