Ayr United Under 12 Girls

Blantyre Celtic Green U12 v Ayr United U12

The girls travelled to a wet and overcast Hamilton for our match against Blantyre Celtic in SW League B.

The wet conditions on grass meant both teams struggled to get the ball moving but Ayr competing strongly carved out a few very good opportunities in the first half.

The early part of the second half saw the girls take control of the game again creating lots of opportunities. The heavy conditions meant the girls tired towards the end of the game with Blantyre coming back strong in the final quarter.

A good performance for the bulk of the game but a slow last quarter gives us plenty to work on for our next game.

Emma, who was solid in defence the whole game making some key challenges throughout the game and working hard to cover the pitch when we were caught on the break.
A very good defensive display.

Ayr United U12 v Glenburn 2014 U12

We welcomed Glenburn to an overcast but warm Somerset Park for our first game in SW League B.

In a very competitive and enjoyable match the girls started well moving the ball quickly and playing some great passing football creating numerous chances with the woodwork and the Glenburn goalie preventing us from getting on the scoresheet early.

The girls grew into the physical side of the game and matched their opponents well across the park making our dominance of possession and the press to win the ball back very pleasing for the coaches. Ayr continued to create numerous chances and scored some very well worked goals.

Amélie - controlled the game well in the middle of the park and showed good composure in front of goal in the second half. A tough decision today due to lots of good individual performances.

🏆The Edinburgh International Cup 2026! 🏆

An early start for our girls this morning as they headed off to Edinburgh to compete in the Edinburgh Cup! 💙🤍🖤

The girls had an amazing day, competing against 5 different teams and playing some fantastic football throughout the day. ⚽️👏

Between matches, the girls had plenty of fun making the most of the rides and enjoying themselves! 🎢🎠😂

A brilliant day filled with football, fun and lots of memories! 💙⚽️

A huge thank you to Coach Duncan, who took on designated driver duties and safely got everyone to and from Edinburgh! 🚗👏

And of course, a massive thank you to all the parents for their support, encouragement and for giving up their Saturday to be there cheering the girls on. It’s very much appreciated! 💙🤍🖤

Barony Festival ⚽️

A great afternoon of football at the Barony Festival in Cumnock, with the rain holding off until the end!

The girls played five 20-minute matches against some new opposition, recording 3 draws (0-0, 1-1, 1-1) and 2 losses (0-1, 0-4).

Considering it was our first games back after a 3-week break, the girls played some excellent football, creating plenty of chances. Tired legs showed in the final match, but the coaches were delighted with the overall performance.

Plenty of positives to build on as we now look ahead to the Edinburgh Cup in August.

A big thank you to all our opponents and to Cumnock Girls for hosting a fantastic, well-organised festival.

Due to the extreme weather, Coach Duncan decided to swap our usual training session for a fun session at the beach! 🌞🏖️

The girls had a fantastic time, enjoyed some team fun, and finished the session off with some well-earned ice lollies. 🍦😊

The girls will now enjoy a short summer break before training resumes on 20th July.

From all the girls and coaches at Ayr United Under 12 Girls, we would like to say a massive thank you to the staff and generous customers at Asda Heathfield, Ayr, for supporting our bucket collection fundraiser on Sunday 21st July.

We would also like to thank all of the parents and girls who gave up their time to attend and help throughout the day.

Thanks to your incredible generosity and support, we raised an amazing £251.81 towards purchasing new training kits for the girls.

Grassroots football relies heavily on the support of local communities, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who donated and helped make the day such a success.
