🧠🔥 HOT YOGA FOR YOUR MIND, NOT JUST YOUR BODY
We all know Hot Yoga can challenge your body — but what about your mind?

Research into heated yoga is showing some really interesting results.

A randomised controlled trial found that heated yoga was associated with significantly greater reductions in depression symptoms compared with a waitlist control after 8 weeks, reports the National Institutes for Health.

And it’s not just about the physical practice.

In another study of Bikram Yoga, researchers found that 61% of participants achieved a clinically significant reduction in depression symptoms after 8 weeks. The researchers suggested that interrupting negative thinking and developing mindful awareness may play a role.

Participants in the heated-yoga study also reported feeling improvements in mood, energy, sleep and concentration over the course of the programme.

Of course, Hot Yoga isn't a replacement for professional mental-health care — but the research is promising.

Sometimes, taking 60 to 90 minutes to step away from the noise, breathe, move and simply focus on yourself can make a difference. ❤️

🔥 FIRST HOT YOGA CLASS? HERE’S HOW TO HANDLE THE HEAT🔥

Walking into a hot room for the first time can feel like a LOT. 😅 But remember: you don’t need to conquer the heat — you simply need to learn how to work with it.

Here are our top tips for your first class:

🌡️ ACCLIMATISE
Give your body time to adjust. The heat may feel intense at first, and that’s completely normal.

🧘‍♀️ DON’T FIGHT THE HEAT
Try to relax into the experience rather than resisting it. The more you tense up, the harder it can feel.

👃 COME BACK TO YOUR BREATH
When things feel intense, slow down and focus on steady, controlled breathing. Your breath is your anchor.

🧎‍♀️ REST WHEN YOU NEED TO
There is absolutely no shame in taking a break. Sit down, kneel or rest until you feel ready to continue.

💧 HYDRATE SMART
Arrive well hydrated and bring water with you. Sip when needed rather than trying to drink a huge amount all at once.

🐢 SLOW DOWN
You don't have to match anyone else's pace. Focus on your own body, your breathing and your technique.

🧠 EXPECT YOUR MIND TO CHAT!
Your brain might tell you, “This is too hot!” 😂 Take a breath, pause and remind yourself that you can always rest.

🚨 KNOW THE DIFFERENCE
Feeling challenged is normal. Feeling faint, confused, nauseous or unwell is not. Stop and let your teacher know if you don't feel right.

❤️ AND MOST IMPORTANTLY… BE PATIENT.
Your first class might feel tough. With regular practice, your body and mind become more familiar with the heat.

You don't need to beat the heat.
You just need to learn how to move through it. 🔥

Save this for your first Hot Yoga class & send it to a friend who’s thinking about trying it! 👯‍♀️

💧 SATURDAY TIP | Recovery Starts After Class

Your workout doesn't end when you roll up your mat.

How you recover after class plays a huge role in helping your body feel stronger, recover faster, and get ready for your next session.

Here's our simple recovery checklist:

💦 Rehydrate with water and electrolytes.
🥗 Refuel with a balanced meal containing protein and carbohydrates.
🧘 Stretch gently if your body needs it.
❄️ Allow your body to cool down gradually before jumping back into your busy day.

Taking care of yourself after class is just as important as showing up for it.

💬 What's your favourite post-class recovery ritual? We'd love to hear it!

Reminder: you don’t have to have it all figured out to roll out a mat and stretch the chaos out of your brain 🧘‍♀️

Why Hot Yoga?🧘‍♀️ Have you ever wondered why we turn up the heat?

Hot yoga isn't just about working up a sweat—it's about creating an environment that can support your practice in unique ways. Combined with mindful movement and breathwork, exercising in a heated room has been studied for a range of potential physical and mental health benefits.

🌿 Some of the benefits linked to regular hot yoga include:

💪 Improved flexibility
Warm muscles may move more comfortably through a greater range of motion, helping you gradually improve flexibility.

❤️ Cardiovascular fitness
The heat increases your heart rate, meaning your body works a little harder, providing a gentle cardiovascular challenge alongside your yoga practice.

😊 Reduced stress
Yoga is well known for helping to reduce stress and improve mood. The combination of movement, breathing, and mindfulness can leave you feeling calmer and more centred.

⚖️ Better balance and strength
Regular practice helps develop core strength, stability, and body awareness, all of which contribute to improved balance.

🦴 Bone health
Weight-bearing yoga poses have been associated with supporting bone strength, particularly when practised consistently.

😴 Improved wellbeing
Many people report sleeping better, feeling more energised, and enjoying greater overall wellbeing after making hot yoga part of their routine.

💧 A mindful challenge
Practising in the heat encourages you to slow down, listen to your body, and stay present. It's not about pushing harder—it's about practising smarter.

✨ A few reminders:
• Stay well hydrated before and after class.
• Take breaks whenever you need to.
• Listen to your body—every practice is different.

Whether you're looking to build strength, improve flexibility, reduce stress, or simply enjoy an hour focused on yourself, hot yoga offers something for everybody.

Have you tried hot yoga yet? We'd love to hear how it makes you feel! 💛

SATURDAY TIP | 🧘‍♀️ How to Ace Your Balancing Yoga Poses 🌿
Balance isn't just about standing still—it's about finding stability, focus, and confidence. Here are a few simple tips to help you feel steadier in your practice:

✨ 1. Find a Drishti (Focus Point)
Choose a spot in front of you that isn't moving. Keeping your gaze steady helps your body stay balanced.

🌱 2. Engage Your Core
Think of gently drawing your belly button towards your spine. A strong, engaged core provides the stability you need.

🦶 3. Ground Through Your Standing Foot
Spread your toes and press evenly through your heel, the ball of your foot, and your toes. A strong foundation makes all the difference.

💨 4. Breathe
Holding your breath can make balancing harder. Slow, steady breathing helps you stay calm and focused.

🤲 5. Relax Your Shoulders
Keep your shoulders soft and avoid unnecessary tension. Balance comes more easily when your body is relaxed.

🌸 6. Don't Fear the Wobble
Wobbling is part of the learning process! Every little adjustment helps improve your balance over time.

💛 7. Practice Regularly
Balance is a skill that develops with patience and consistency. Every practice brings progress.

Remember, yoga isn't about being perfect—it's about showing up, learning, and enjoying the journey. Embrace the wobbles, celebrate your progress, and keep growing. 🌿✨
