To say I’m rusty is an understatement 👀
Although I train clients in either boxing fundamentals or S&C within the sport it’s Been a fair while since I’ve hit the mits myself. Needing an Improvement in footwork,head movement and just being a lot more fluid altogether but that’s the enjoyment of getting back into the sport! Striving to get back and exceed the levels that I once was will always be the goal🥊

Briefly in my last post I mentioned that I believe true results come over a long period rather than just a few months and I believe that 110%💫
during my own journey I tried every quick fix imaginable whether that be mass gainers/ force feeding meals/ trying every programme I ever came across that mentioned “growth” and all it ever done was make me despise half of my food and over complicate every aspect of training and nutrition I done🙄
it wasn’t until I took a step back set a clear goal, stuck to a program and followed the process that I started to see the results I had been wanting for so long. Unfortunately nothing happens over night and to get the results we all desire there’s a lot of hard work to achieve them, but once you do there’s no better feeling 🏋️♀️
Can’t wait to see the results of the hard work peters put in over the last few months when the competitive season starts again💫

1 year on and what a year it’s been🎉 Elana was my first ever client and trusted me enough to help her reach her goal of losing fat and building lean muscle.
As you can see she absolutely smashed that goal but shortly after her goals changed more towards her performance and wanting to get stronger in the weight room. Elana’s lifts have skyrocketed since And are now as follows
Squat 80kg 1rm ( increased from 40kg)
Bench 43kg 1rm (increase from 30kg)
Deadlift 95kg 1rm (increase from 45kg)
All this being achieved through hard work, dedication and consistency well done elana🏋️♀️
(Highlights of my current programme for Olympic lifts & speed/power)
There is so much information out there about training that it overwhelms people and they end up doing there workouts with out any purpose in mind and as much as all theses different methods/styles are beneficial in there own way (bodybuilding/powerlifting/Olympic lifts) you need to make sure that the method matches your goal.
For example one of my clients main goal is increasing his speed/power and explosiveness inside the boxing ring, so putting him on a Bodybuilding programme isn’t going to be beneficial to his goal where putting him on a programme that is based around styles like plyo-metric training,variations of Olympic lifts and strength work on his core exercises (deadlift/squat etc) is going to maximise the results.

How could I not be proud of her😭 I’ve had the pleasure of working with elana for just over 7 months now and it’s amazing to see how far she has came, dropping just short of 1.5 stone and completely changing her body shape 💫
Elana’s training has changed so much over the months, elana started with having a big athletic back ground in ice skating but very little experience in weightlifting/conditioning when she came to me but now she’s destroying each and every session regardless if it’s a heavy leg session or a huge AMRAP to finish the day🏋️♀️ Elana’s PB’s are now sitting at
40kg bench
80kg squat
110kg deadlift
Here phill is demonstrating the use of a band during shadow boxing, it’s an exercise I swear by for warming up just before the main part of the session.
The band does many things mostly it helps warm up the lower part of the body particularly the glutes prior to the main session but for boxing specific benefits it’s a great tool for technique building as your over emphasising lateral flexion and focusing on keeping that perfect width in the stance and not allowing the knees to collapse in🥊🏋️♀️
