We’re deep into residential season with back to back schools across both glamping sites. Even though the weather has been far from ideal our team of super instructors have been delivering
- Climbing and Abseiling in the sunny spells 🧗
- Paddle boarding & canoeing in the showers 🏄
- Archery and Orienteering in between 🏹

🗑️Our Big Paddlle Cleanup was a Great Success today in Barnard Castle 🛶🏰

Thanks for all that took part, we managed to find ,

🚧 1 Traffic Cone
✂️ 1 pair of Garden Shears

And a huge assortment of other bits!

Join us for a fantastic nationwide community event on the 25th May. This year the Wilderness Company with your help are aiming to clear the river Tees and its banks of rubbish from the Demesnes up to the County Bridge.

The more the merrier but we'll need to know how much equipment to bring, for those wanting to bring the kids along you are welcome to but they will need to be supervised cloesly by parents.
We'll be bring some Giant Paddleboards to collect the rubbish as we travel up the river. so those happy to get wet will need to dress accordingly and wear one of our Bouyancy aids and Helmets.

After lasts years success of hosting our outdoor activity camp at Montalbo School we are back for the summer holidays this year. With new activities to add to our already exciting time table we can’t wait to July to get started.

Our NEW timetable consists of a primary daily activity followed by a series of secondary activities,

MONDAY - River Walk 💦
TUESDAY – Abseiling 🧗
WEDNESDAY - Mega Paddle Boarding 🏄🏻‍♂️
THURSDAY - Survival Day 🔥
FRIDAY - Mega Water Fight 🔫

Secondary activities may include,
Wide Games 🗺️

Dam and Shelter Building 🌿

The Wilderness Company is a long established and experienced outdoor provider, primarily delivering school residential experiences across numerous sites throughout the year, our staff are qualified, experienced and DBS checked. We are fully and insured and licensed through the HSE to deliver adventurous activities offsite to under 18s.

☀️🚣🏻‍♀️ A stunning day out on Ullswater with Beaconside Primary School. Final day of year 3 earning their spurs out on the Lake.

Wilderness Journey no.4 Heart of Yorkshire

Experience the Heart of Yorkshire from the water on this relaxed paddling journey along the River Ure 🛶🌿

Starting on the historic Ripon Canal, we’ll paddle through calm waterways before joining the wider flow of the river. The route passes open countryside, rich wildlife and the impressive grounds of Newby Hall. Partway through the journey, we’ll stop on the riverbank to enjoy a luxury cream tea before continuing downstream. This is a gentle, scenic day out designed to slow things down and enjoy Yorkshire from a different perspective.
