🔴⚫️ U10 | A COUPLE OF WEEKS TO CATCH UP ON… ⚫️🔴

We’ve missed a week of posting, so here’s a little catch-up from the last couple of games for the lads! 🦅

⚽️ GAME 1

Another tough test for the boys in a game that swung both ways right until the end.

The lads showed real character, played some good football and created plenty of chances. It was one of those games where a few things just didn’t quite drop for us, in a game that neither team deserved to lose.

There was plenty to take from the performance, and the improvement from week to week continues to be there for everyone to see. 📈

⚽️ Goals:
Jax
Jax — assist Alfie
Jax — assist Freddie

🏆 Opposition MOM — Jaxson proudly sponsored by P Clem 🍊

Another battling performance from Jaxson. He worked hard, recovered well and was a constant threat with that wand of a left foot! 👏🏻

🏆 Managers MOM — Reid proudly sponsored by Britannia flight simulator

Reid carried forward exactly what was asked of him in training, covered every blade of grass and stayed calm on the ball to help us get playing. 👏🏻

The message afterwards was simple — move on, work hard at training and go again.

⚽️ GAME 2

Today brought another test, and one we knew we had to approach with the right attitude.

The first half was nowhere near our potential. The energy was lacklustre and we made things harder for ourselves than they needed to be.

There were a few words at half-time, with the message being simple: show more energy and do the simple things well.

And there was a definite improvement in the second half. The lads stepped it up, moved the ball better and started to show much more of the football we know they’re capable of. 👊🏻

⚽️ Goals:
Jesse ⚽️⚽️⚽️ — assist Jax
Jax ⚽️⚽️ — assists Jesse
Jaxson ⚽️⚽️ — assists Jesse & Jax
Reid ⚽️ — assist Alfie

🏆 Opposition MOM — Jaxson proudly sponsored by P Clem 🍊

Jaxson picked up the opposition’s MOM once again, and this one came with a brilliant compliment from the Middlewoods manager, who came straight over after the game and, before I could even ask, simply said:

“What a player.”

Keep this up, Jay. You’re becoming a force to be reckoned with! 🔥

🏆 Managers MOM — Sonny proudly sponsored by WigglyBums&Bubbles

In a game where it would have been very easy to lose concentration, Sonny maintained his focus throughout and made some great decisions whenever he was called upon. A really composed performance from him. 👏🏻

⸻

There’s still plenty for us to work on, but the progress from week to week is there for everyone to see.

The focus now turns to training on Tuesday, where we’ll continue working on how we react when we lose the ball, before we get ourselves ready for cup action next weekend. 🏆

Keep working. Keep learning. Keep improving.

Next challenge awaits, lads! 🔴⚫️🦅

🦅🔴⚫️ U10 MATCH DAY ⚫️🔴🦅

Another game, another fantastic effort from the lads! 👏🏻

Today was one of those games that tested us right until the very end. We created plenty of opportunities, particularly early on, but didn’t quite make the most of them and allowed Abbey Lane to settle into the game.

From there, it became a real battle, with both teams working hard and competing for everything.

The lads showed real character and determination throughout. When things weren’t going our way, they kept working, kept fighting and kept believing — and that mentality is something we’ve been really impressed with over the last couple of games. 💪🏻

⚽️ Goals:
🔴 Jax — assist Jaxson
🔴 Alfie — assist Jaxson
🔴 Jax

Special mention to Jax for keeping his cool when it mattered most and confidently putting away the penalty late on. 👌🏻🥶

🏆 Opposition MOM — Jax
Once again threatening whenever he had the ball at his feet, but today he also showed that he can bring plenty to his defensive duties too. A really well-rounded performance from Jax. 👏🏻 proudly sponsored by Darkside Developments

🏆 Managers MOM — Ethan
Mr Solid. Mr Consistent. 🧱 Another really composed performance at the back, doing his job and giving us that reliability we need.

Never fear when Ethan’s near! 💪🏻😂 proudly sponsored by CRB Building Services

There are definitely things for us to work on, particularly making the most of the chances we create and managing games when we’re in control.

But the grit, fight and togetherness these lads are showing deserves huge credit.

Although I’m not sure me and Ryan’s blood pressure is going to survive the season! 😂😂

Heads on for training this week, plenty to work on and then we’ll be ready for another tough one next weekend.

Keep believing, keep working and keep playing the football we know you can play. 👊🏻

Well done, lads! 🔴⚫️🦅

🔴⚫️ U10 REDS | MATCH REPORT ⚫️🔴

A hard-fought game away at Wombwell Town Blacks today, with the Reds having to show plenty of quality, grit and determination.

The lads started strongly and were rewarded early on, with some excellent football creating opportunities going forward. We moved the ball really well at times, including a brilliant move that saw Jaxson deliver into the box and Jax arrive at the back post to finish. 👏⚽️

Wombwell certainly made us work for it though. They had some really talented technical players who were quick, skilful and a constant threat going forward. A couple of moments where we came unstuck meant the half-time message was simple — we needed to dig in and compete.

We came out quickly again after the break and continued to play some great football, but Wombwell kept coming back at us and it felt like the game could go either way.

The lads kept working, kept passing and eventually another excellent move ended with Alfie finding Freddie, who produced a great finish at a crucial point in the game. 🙌

This was a proper battle. Wombwell weren’t going to roll over and the boys had to work incredibly hard right until the end. It wasn’t just about playing good football today — it was about showing resilience, competing for every ball and finding a way when the game got tough. 💪❤️🖤

⚽️ Goals: Reid, Jax & Freddie
🎯 Assists: Jax, Jaxson & Alfie

🏆 Opposition POTM — Jesse
Recognised by the opposition for the second week running for his grit, energy and solidity. Another really strong performance. 👏 proudly sponsored by Eric Eyre Funeral Service

🏆 Managers’ POTM — Reid
We’ve been working with Reid on developing the attacking side of his game and he showed that today by getting himself on the scoresheet. But his defensive contribution was just as important — getting stuck into some very talented players and producing some huge last-ditch tackles and clearances. Proudly sponsored by Britannia flight simulator

A tough test and a performance the lads can take plenty from.

Well done Reds! 🔴⚫️

First game of the season for our falcons ⚽️

🔴⚽ U10 REDS | SEASON OPENER ⚽🔴

A really strong, dominant team performance from the Reds in our opening game of the season today. 👏

There were a couple of patches where our energy levels dropped, but overall we looked together on the ball — giving options, supporting the player in possession and combining really well going forward.

Some brilliant attacking football resulted in goals from:

⚽ Jaxson — assist Arthur
⚽ Arthur — assist Jaxson
⚽ Ethan — assist Jax
⚽ Jax — assist Alfie
⚽ Freddie — assist Jax
⚽ Jax — assist Alfie

Still plenty to work on though… CORNERS! 😂 14 in the first half and not one shot on target from them! Safe to say we know what might be appearing in training this week! 👀

🏆 Opposition Player of the Match – Jax, sponsored by Darkside Developments,
Terrified their defence today! Direct, dangerous and constantly carrying us up the pitch in attack. A brilliant performance. 🔥

🏆 Managers’ Players of the Match – Jaxson & Jesse

Jaxson, sponsored by PClem 🍊, maintained his energy and focus throughout and caused nothing but trouble down the left wing. A constant threat and a fantastic performance. 👏

Jesse, sponsored by Eric Eyre Funeral Service, is really making that defensive position his own. Taking charge, leading, reading the game and making good decisions — absolutely quality today. 🧱

Most pleasing was seeing the boys playing for each other and looking like a team. Lots to build on and still plenty to improve, but a really positive start to the new season.

🔴⚫ MEET THE FALCONS | JAX #11 ⚫🔴

And that brings us to the final player in our Meet the Falcons series… just in time for the new season kicking off this Sunday! ⚽🦅

Last but certainly not least is our #11, Jax!

A winger who’s happy operating on either the left or right, Jax brings plenty of energy and personality to the team — and judging by his answers, he reckons he’s a bit of a joker too! 😂

His footballing hero is Haaland, while his favourite thing about the Falcons is the friendships he’s made with his teammates and the support from his coaches. ❤️🖤

And his dream stadium? The Bernabéu! 🏟️

That’s all the introductions done… now it’s time for the football! 🙌

Good luck to Jax and all the boys as our U10 Reds get their new season underway on Sunday! 🔴⚫

🔴⚫ MEET THE FALCONS | ALFIE #10 ⚫🔴

Next up in our Meet the Falcons series is Alfie… ever the smiler! 😂📸

This season Alfie takes the #10 shirt, playing as a striker or in midfield and giving us options going forward. ⚽🔥

Alfie’s footballing hero is Jude Bellingham, his favourite England player, while the best thing about being a Falcon is the new friends he’s made along the way ❤️🖤 — exactly what grassroots football is all about!

His dream stadium? The Etihad 🏟️

Next up in our Meet the Falcons series is Freddie… better known as T-Rex! 🦖⚽

Our #9 can lead the line as a striker or cause problems from the right wing, bringing plenty of energy to our attack. 🔥

Freddie’s footballing hero is Barry Bannan, who he likes for his speed and ability to set up goals. His favourite thing about being a Falcon is simple — playing football with his friends and having fun together. ❤️🖤

And there was only ever going to be one choice for his dream stadium… Hillsborough! 💙🏟️

🔴⚫ MEET THE FALCONS | REID #8 ⚫🔴

Next up in our Meet the Falcons series is our captain, Reid! 🦅⚽

Our #8 is at home in the centre of midfield, helping us get on the ball and play, although you’ll occasionally see him dropping into defence when needed! 💪⚽

Reid’s footballing hero is Jude Bellingham, who he admires for his footballing mind and passing ability. His favourite part of being a Falcon? Winning matches and tournaments with his teammates — and simply spending time with them. ❤️🖤

And when it comes to his dream stadium, he couldn’t pick just one… Oakwell or the Bernabéu! 🏟️😂
