Coach Danny -

It’s been a fantastic three years coaching these kids and an absolute pleasure.
The development of all of them has been fascinating to see not just in their football but as kids. You create a bond with the kids and they stress you out just like your own but that’s all part of the game 😃. I will miss them all and wish them all the best in there next journey through life and there football path. Go smash it 🤜.

Thank you to all the parents too who have helped us so much wether it be at training, helping out with equipment on match days, getting the team on social media, match day reports, raffles on match days, all the organising behind the scenes to arrange events and presents for the kids and raising money to help the team run successfully 🙌 🫡

And last shout out to the man who made it all happen Luke (“The Boss”), he came along to help me out three years ago and I soon promoted him to manger without him knowing 😃. The job he’s done and time he’s taken out to not just turn up to training and match days like me but to organise things for three years which has taken a lot of time, effort and stress and I appreciate all you have done to help me and the team and find it very admirable.
Sad to split up from my football wife but met a mate for life and a very good one at that 🤜.

Thank you to the most amazing group of kids who have stuck with us from day 1. You’ve listened, we’ve learnt, we’ve grown together on our journey. It’s been a pleasure to watch you develop on and off the pitch. We’ve had so many laughs and amazing moments along the way, highs and lows, moments of magic on and off the pitch. Finishing last Sunday with one of our biggest achievements; a cup win…. What a way to finish this experience together! 🏆

Thank you to all at Junior Tykes FC for your support, a great club with the kids at heart. Also thanks to all the teams we’ve met along the way! The kids, coaches and parents. We’ve had some great battles, most of which friendly 😬

Massive thank you to super Annette for being with us through it all and supporting the players from the middle as our mainstay Ref! You are one of us!

Thanks to our Tykes parents who stood in the rain with us, laughed with us, supported us, raised funds, gave your own time and energy to embrace the journey together. You’ve all helped to create a really special experience for your Tykes!

Finally, thanks to the Jason Tindall to my Eddie Howe, the Steve McLaren to my Sir Alex, the Coach Beard to my Ted Lasso. Top man, kept me sane, the football flowing and the jokes coming. Couldn’t have done it without you! Made a top friend in all this. Will see you in the pub 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Good luck to our Tykes who are carrying on their football journey with new teams and also to the ones who are moving on from football to try new experiences! Your resilience, courage and determination 👏🏼 You are amazing!

🏆 Your Cup Winning Tykes 🏆

Your super Junior Tykes gave everything today from the first to the last minute to bring home the Cup!

The coaches and parents couldn’t be prouder of everything the Tykes have achieved over the last three years and what a way to cement the end of this chapter!

A hard fought game where we took the early initiative and raced in to a 3 goal lead before getting pegged back to a nervy 3-2 score line after some great football from our opponents. The Tykes resilience and work ethic paid off to grab a 4-2 lead before conceding again late on but the Tykes managed to see it out with a narrow lead and get over the finish line to bring it home.

Some great football from both teams. Credit to Silverwood Jnrs for their never say die attitude. Both teams were worthy of their cup final appearance and gave it everything to the last kick of the ball. Both teams a credit to themselves and their coaches!

Super Tykes for the Final! 🔥 💪

Your Junior Tykes were in Semi-Final action today and came out on top over a plucky Sheffield Steelers team.

The Tykes were absolutely over the moon to reach their first final together after falling short at the same stage last season.

Some great periods of play, staying calm and composed! Huge credit to every one of them for working their socks off in the heat today, fully deserving of their place in next Sundays Final!

Keep your eye out for details so you can come down and show your support to these amazing kids for their progress over the last 3 years! Win or Lose next Sunday, it will be a celebration of them and how far they have come, a great way to end the season.

Sienna had another great game today. In cold, blustery conditions she gave maximum effort and showed that composure and touch of class we know she has.

She worked hard all game, helping out in both directions and chipped in with 3 absolutely impeccable finishes. She was on fire today, again drawing praise from the opposition coaches as the stand out player, she gave everything and came off the pitching smiling which is what we love to see.

Well done Sienna, capping a fine season with a confident performance! 🔥

Oliver really showed up today and put on a special performance, it was probably his best performance of the season and he thoroughly deserved the award.

Oliver was brave coming off his line and throwing himself at the on rushing forwards showing great courage, he made point blank reflex saves, diving saves and saves that he made look easy due to his excellent positioning. It was also great to see Oliver kick the ball with purpose today too, listening for the shouts and aiming his kicks picking out his team mates.

You could see he played with real passion today and no doubt this helped with his performance.

Today Coaches Player of the Match was a split decision! When the players give everything on the pitch and put in performances like today, it’s so hard to pick between them!

Sienna and Eden both had brilliant games and the match would have been a different result without both of them for different reasons!

Eden has been playing out of position at times recently and we’ve really missed his goals and attacking threat when he has. He took a few knocks today and showed some fantastic resilience to get back up and on the pitch to carry his team over the line! The Hat-trick hero was in great form, His second goal being the pick of the bunch with that wand of a left foot we love to see!

Sienna was absolutely superb too. She won her battle back in her natural position on the right wing, working tirelessly, helping her defenders and creating quick efficient counter attacks playing superb balls for team mates, digging out wonderful crosses and creating goal scoring opportunities. She was unlucky not to get on the score sheet too with a lovely dipping shot from distance in the second half.

Both were superb today, as was every Tyke. We couldn’t be prouder of the team that with a real work rate and desire to win!

Well done Sienna and Eden for a fantastic contribution in what was a real test today. 👏🏼

Charlie took the Parents player award again this week to continue his fine form.

He started up front and we got the usual work ethic right from the off, his constant pressing and hard work to get back and help his team put us in good stead. He was replaced midway through the first half for a breather and returned back for the 2nd half in central midfield.
It was here where he really grabbed the game by the scruff off the neck.

Charlie recognised when to drive forward with the ball spotting the spaces and choosing the right moment when to release it to a team mate in threatening areas. He made 3 or 4 perfectly timed, penetrating passes through the lines and when he found himself wider won his 1v1’s and put some great balls in to the box. He created the winning goal today through one of his driving runs racing down the right hand side and squaring a perfect pass in to the box.

We saw the usual 110% work ethic today from him but what impressed most was the way he released the ball unselfishly and at the right time for team mates.

Well done Charlie on another fantastic performance. Keep this fine form up for the remainder of the season!
