It was great to be back on the court this evening after a few weeks outside on the turf.
Well done to all the players this evening π More technical mastery minutes in the bank.
The players started off with some ball mastery as an activation drill - loads of touches on both feet, plenty of opportunities to freestyle as well as some prescribed combinations.
Tonight we kept proceedings simple and played SSGs and 1v1s which gave the players plenty of opportunities to put their receiving eliminating and skills in to practice... And the players certainly delivered!
Again, well done to all the players but a special shout out to the players of the night who were selected by the coaches ππ₯β½

Well done to all the players who took to the "turf" this week. More technical mastery minutes in the bank π
Due to school exams the sports hall was lit of action so we went off piste to make sure we still put sessions on.
The players started off with some ball mastery as an activation drill - loads of touches on both feet, plenty of opportunities to freestyle as well as some prescribed combinations. The main focus was using turns to change direction and create separation - Cryuff's, Ls, Zidane's, Outside / Inside hooks etc.
Tonight we ran the following practices π
P1:
P&R technical practice to focus on receiving and passing techniques. A "turn" before you pass condition was added as a progression.
P2:
Unopposed technical practice that involved full technical mastery - dribbling, passing and receiving.
We fed into the topic by focusing on turns to change direction and desperation and provided the players with loads of repetition opportunities.
Practices and combos were practiced on both feet.
P3:
1v1s - fast and furious 1v1s that incorporated receiving techniques and our topic - turns to create separation and change direction.
P4:
SSGs to finish focusing on the topic.
Again, well done to all the players but a special shout out to the players of the night who were selected by the coaches π
Ps. If you're interested in your son or daughter trying futsal please get in touch!

Well done to all the players who took to the court this week. More technical mastery minutes in the bank π
The players started off with some ball mastery as an activation drill - loads of touches on both feet, plenty of opportunities to freestyle as well as some prescribed combinations.
Tonight we ran the following practices π
P1:
1v1s with the focus on transitioning from attack to defence - think and react quick.
Key takeaways for the players from a defensive point of view -
Can you deny space, delay the attacker and then dictate which side you force them - ideally on their "weak" side. Finally, the players were encouraged to defend off cues and use their bodies and arms.
P2:
Unopposed technical practice that involved full technical mastery - dribbling, passing and receiving. The focus was put on forward moves and the elimination equation - skill + change of direction and change of speed (explode out and away).
Practices and combos were practiced on both feet.
P3:
SSGs to finish focusing on the in possession topics we have recently focused on - think & play forward, move to receive and deceive, elimination skills etc.
Again, well done to all the players but a special shout out to the players of the night who were selected by the coaches π

Tonight we ran the following practices π
P1:
1v1s with the focus on moving to receive under pressure.
Key takeaways for the players - scan then find space through movement and ideally be on the half turn.
P2:
SSG with magic man to create over and underloads.
The focus was on the topic 'move to receive' to players were encouraged to use clever movements like in outs, blindside, overlaps and underlaps etc.
P3:
Unopposed technical practice that involved full technical mastery - dribbling, passing and receiving - after moving and ideally on the half turn.
Again, well done to all the players but a special shout out to the players of the night who were selected by the coaches π

More technical mastery minutes in the bank and another good session last night on the court.
It was back to the start of our programme and the first focus was forward moves.
The players started off with some ball mastery as an activation drill - loads of touches on both feet, plenty of opportunities to freestyle as well as some prescribed combinations that fed into the topic.
Tonight we ran the following practices π
P1:
A technical practice focusing on dribbling and forward move combinations. Keeping the ball under control and ex*****on of the skills were paramount.
As ever, the players practiced on both feet so they can exit on both sides and become unpredictable.
P2:
1v1s with forward emphasis. The attacking player had to receive on their role foot and attack with speed whilst looking to perform a forward skill to eliminate their defender.
Through the drill little tips were given and constraints added like 5 seconds to score to promote speed and directness.
P3:
SSG with the topic (forward moves) at the forefront.
The players were challenged and reminded to always think and play forward and more importantly be brave and go at their opponent when 1v1.
Throughout the SSG the players were swapped around and had to deal with some different conditions like overloads - magic man.
Again, well done to all the players but a special shout out to the players of the night who were selected by the coaches π
