After a two-week break from matchday action, we’re back on the pitch this Sunday as Junior Tykes FC White host South Kirkby Colliery JFC in a friendly fixture.

The boys are excited to be back playing and ready for another enjoyable test. We’re looking forward to a morning full of effort, smiles, and great football.

Tournament Report 📋⚽

Last Saturday, the team took part in another challenging summer tournament, facing strong opposition throughout the day. Despite narrowly missing out on the knockout stages by just one place, the players can be extremely proud of their efforts and achievements.

The boys, together with Willow, showed fantastic determination, teamwork, and resilience in difficult conditions. The hot weather tested every player, but they continued to battle until the very last game. Winning four matches in very strong and competitive group was a great achievement and another sign of the progress being made by this team. While qualification for the knockout stages was just out of reach, the experience gained will undoubtedly help the players continue to develop in the future.

Willow stepped in brilliantly in goal, replacing Dominic and producing several important saves while also showing great composure when playing out from the back.

At the heart of the defence, Carson and Frankie delivered another strong tournament performance. Both players showed determination in every challenge and helped the team build attacks with some excellent passing from the back.

Further forward, Rueben, Jaxon, Antoni, and Arthur worked tirelessly throughout the day. Their commitment to following instructions, tracking back defensively, and pressing high up the pitch played a huge role in the team’s success and contributed directly to several goals.

A special thank you goes to Jaxon and his dad for helping us out and strengthening the squad for the tournament. Their support was invaluable, especially in the challenging conditions.

Tomorrow, Junior Tykes FC White will be taking part in the Doncaster Spring Champions Series U7 Tournament, proudly hosted by Barnby Dun Colts.

Match Report 📋⚽

Friendly Match vs Ackworth Juniors Yellow

What a performance from the boys today, a brilliant display from the very first whistle and a result that truly reflected the attacking football on show. A huge 13-3 victory, and honestly, it could have been even more.

The team played with confidence, energy, and intensity throughout, creating chance after chance with some outstanding football being played from the back all the way through to the attack.

Dominic was excellent once again, producing some fantastic saves during the match and also stepping up brilliantly in the penalty shootout at the end. At the back, Carson and Frankie were rock solid, defending strongly and giving the opposition very little space.

On the wings, Myles, Rueben, Reuben, and Marley caused constant problems with their pace, movement, and quality deliveries into the box. Their passing and attacking play were exceptional all game long.

Leading the line, Antoni and Arthur kept relentless pressure on the opposition, never allowing them a moment to settle. The teamwork, movement, and determination across the whole pitch made this a performance to be proud of especially in such difficult conditions in the heat.

Tournament Report 📋⚽

What a tournament it was for the boys last Sunday! Drawn into a very difficult group against some strong teams, the lads showed incredible character, determination, and teamwork throughout the day. Every single player fought until the very end to achieve the best possible results for the team.

Despite some tough matches and results that didn’t always reflect the performances on the pitch, the boys never gave up. Their hard work paid off as they successfully made it out of the group stages and into the Europa Cup quarter-final.

The quarter-final brought even more drama, with the boys holding their nerve to win on penalties and secure a place in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, our tournament journey came to an end there, as a strong Hoyland side proved to be the better team on the day.

Matt and Mark could not be prouder of the boys. As coaches, it is a real pleasure to work with such a fantastic group of players who continue to show passion, resilience, and togetherness every time they step onto the pitch.

Well done boys, you should all be very proud of yourselves 💙

After completing another fantastic season in the Barnsley League, the boys are back in action tomorrow as they begin their summer tournament journey at the Kendray Cup 2026 - the first tournament of the summer for Junior Tykes FC White.

The team has worked incredibly hard all season, shown great development, determination, and togetherness, and now it’s time to test themselves against new opposition in what promises to be an exciting day of football.
