Aston Swallownest vs JTFC ⚽️

A game which it seemed the scoreline doesnt reflect our efforts today!

It was the Tykes who started on the front foot as they do so often lately!
Pressure upfront and in midfield led to an eary 1-0 to the Tykes. Riley finding the net!

From then, the wind changed slightly in the direction of Aston who had a few chances which resulted in one ending in the back of the Tykes net.

At half time there certainly wasnt much to split the two teams. And it was going to be down to who could capitalise on the fine margins in the second half.

Tykes continued to create opportunities, however against the run of play it was Aston who played a great throughball to catch out the Tykes defenders and take the lead.

From then, the Tykes boys created chance after chance and missed alot of clear cut chances in front of goal.

Huge credit to the Astons No1 in the net..

The pressure continued to mount as the Tykes kept creating alot of chances but were unable to find the net.
Final minutes of the match, Aston found the net again, against the run of play. This put the game to bed!

Tykes put alot into the game today, however missed opportunities proved costly of them gaining any points from the match.

The efforts certainly didnt go unnoticed, with both defensive and attacking players all working hard and digging deep in tough conditions.

Great effort team and on a different day the result might had looked a little different!

Player of the match:
Riley T 🏅

Captains performance today!
His hard work and commitment to the game was superb!
He bossed the midfield and created and contributed to the majority of the chances in attack.

It was also nice to hear the opposition parents praising Riley for his performance.

Well done young man!

⚽️ Wickersley whites VS JTFC ⚽️

What another great game of football that was for our boys to be part of.
Both sides looked strong and gave their all. Either side could have won it so a share in the points seems like a fair result.
It was Wickersley who started stronger, winning more second balls. The deserved to go 1-0 up in what was a scrappy first half.
Tykes sat quite deep first half and invited pressure from the opposition! During the second half the Tykes then deservingly got back into the game with some great play and a stunning 15-20yard strike from Riley!

The opportunities came more our way and Tykes looked like they were favoured to score again.
A great dribble out wide from Faz beating his man one on one and played it into the box and Harry put the ball in the net. However, the ref blew his whistle to stop the advantage.

At 1-1, the game was close!
Tykes continued to dominate and got their reward with a great strike from Mason to test the goalkeeper, followed up by Harry to put the Tykes ahead.
Wickersley then put the pressure on, which the Tykes defenders Leo, Austin and George kept ontop of for a period. However, the pressure mounted and the game was level going into the final quarter.

Both teams had a few chances to claim the victory, however the game was tied at the final whistle.

Great game for the Tykes development and we go again next week!

Player of the match:
Austin

I have been asking Austin over the last few weeks to be more comfortable on the ball and dribble out from the back more to draw in the opposition.
He defended well when relied upon and played out from the back to put the team on the front foot.

Well done young man!

With that said, i could have given it to the full team again for their efforts!

Special mentions:
Harry, Harrison, Leo G and Riley who all had really strong games!

Well done team! 👏

🌟 U9s JTFC vs Pen*stone 🌟

Goalscorers:
Jacob ⚽️
Mason⚽️
Wyatt ⚽️⚽️
Own goal ⚽️

Well done today to the Tykes Boys!
Another win in the bag and more importantly, a strong team performance in what seemed a more one sided game!

It can be tough to get the ball down and play with intensity in wet, boggy conditions and where the grass is alittle longer than usual..
But with that said, the Tykes did control the game really well and moved the ball really well with intent.

It was the Tykes who opened up the scoring first, great passing and attacking play. The momentum started with the Tykes and they piled the pressure on to go 1-0 up.

The Tykes then went 2 goals up by winning first and second balls in the oppositions half. Wyatt putting the ball in the back of the net to mark his first League goal since changing positions.

Pen*stone then gained a goal back to keep themselves in the game with some good play through the Tykes defence.

A great Jacob freekick from just past the half way line went through all the players in the box into the far corner.

The game looked to be all the Tykes way from this point on. Wyatt grabbed another while an own goal just marginally stopped Wyatt from scoring his hattrick.

Pen*stone worked hard in defence and had a few opportunities, however it was a great performance from the Tykes boys and a much deserved team win!

Special mentions:
Special mentions to Leo H today who pulled off some great saves today when called upon. Strong hands and palmed the ball away from any risk of a rebound.
Also picked some good passes out wide with his kicks.

Also, Mason, Jacob and Wyatts efforts didnt go unnoticed.
Which brings us onto the player of the match.

Player of the match:
Wyatt Parnham

Scoring his first League goal for the team this season and a brace overall, the player of the match is Wyatt.
He took both his goals really well and was so close to his hattrick.

The workrate Wyatt shows in attack is really good, battling from the front line to win that ball high up the pitch and put the oppositions defence under pressure.

His hunger for the ball and to do the hard graft for his team stood out today.

Well done young man!

JTFC (blacks)

Another good strong team performance today from our Boys! And another well deserved victory!

Winning the first and second balls was important today, especially when the pitch is sloping against us (first half) and long balls are threatening our defence.

It was the Tykes who opened up the scorecard early on. Dominating much of the possession.

Mason scoring 2 early goals to give a first half advantage ⚽️⚽️. His dedication and commitment to win the ball and produce a top of the class performance.
Creating many opportunities for himself and the team!

In the second half, credit to the opposition it wasnt made easy. The boys had to work hard and dug deep.

Riley bossing the midfield again, hitting the opposition on the attack. Converting opportunities into goals scoring a brace. ⚽️⚽️

In the wide areas, Harrison and Harry attacking key areas making the most of their pace. Creating opportunities off the ball to pin the opposition back in their own half.

Good defensive work, particularly towards the end when pressure was mounting from the opposition.

Special mentions:
Wyatt-
Wyatt made his debut as a striker today and certainly did not disappoint. Putting the graft in along the front line to maximise pressure on the opposition defence. Scored a great solo goal but was quickly ruled out by the referee..

Leo Horne- 🧤
It was great to see Leo Horne making most of the opportunity and looked very comfortable inbetween the sticks. His vital saves kept the Tykes ahead on a number of occasions.

Jacob-
It was great to see Jacob recover from an early first half injury (which looked like a painful hand injury) and get back on the pitch for the last 10mins. Determined to play his part for the Tykes team!

Overall, a fully deserved 3pts and another step up the league table.

MOTM:
Mason T
One of Masons top performances of late.

He kept his focus and created alot of opportunities for his team!
At 1-1 he kept his head up and worked hard for his team to turn defence into attack.

Fully deserved his two goals and deserved to pickup the player of the match medal!

Well done young man!

Cup game (round 1):

Tough away fixture in the first cup round in what proved to be an even game throughout.

CLASSIC local derby between two strong teams with individual duals all over the pitch..

It was Tykes who created the most chances in the first half missing a few opportunities to
go ahead early on.

The opposition grew into the game making the match too close to call at half time!

Leading into the second half, good football turned a little scrappy for the Tykes.. Going behind a few times but showing great character to keep in the game and draw back level.
The final goal was a well earned and blatant penalty!
Mason stepped up and put the game into extra time.

EXTRA TIME
Deadlocked going into two 8 minute halves, it was evident there was very little to split the two sides!
Tykes showed great resilience throughout.
Jacob finishing off his hattrick in extra time, put the game into a penalty shootout!

The shootout didnt go our way unfortunately, which happens occasionally! Even though Wyatt made a great first penalty save! 🧤

OVERALL - What a great game of football for our boys to be part of, learning to deal with individual and team pressure.
Great for their development!
Plenty of positives and experience to take into the next game!

Special mentions:
Riley who delivered a captains performance and gave everything for his team today! (Player of the match).

Also, Jacob the Hattrick hero, playing against his old team! ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Match Day - JTFC vs AFC Pogmoor

Considering the tricky conditions battling against the wind aswell as being up against a tough side, we showed great character, resilience and strength that lead us to victory!

We created our fair share of chances and should maybe have converted a few more than we did.

Every player put in a shift! Piling the pressure on from the front line to the backline.

The game became scrappy at times but we came out with the most duals won!

PLAYER OF THE MATCH!
Leo H

Held the ball up well and brought others into play.

Leo worked hard off the ball for the team and was clinical in front of goal and took all 3 goals well..

Well done young man!
Hattrick hero! 🥇

Today's game (our third game of the season) saw us finish with a draw in a very close game which again, could've gone either way.

We created a lot of chances but unfortunately our opponent were more clinical.

Close physical games like today help us develop as players and as a overall team.

Player of the match: Harry 🥇

Harry certainly made his contribution to the team today and positioned himself in some great areas in attack to create opportunities.

He scored a goal and was unlucky not to get the winning goal at the end. ⚽️
