A huge well done and thank you, to Bluewave members Master Gerry and Dave, who recently refereed at the London Taekwondo Poomsae Championships K Class and the 5th Gajok Poomsae Championships in Liverpool.

Referees play a vital role in Taekwondo competitions, helping ensure events are fair, professional, and run smoothly. We’re proud to see our members supporting the sport both on and off the mats.

Congratulations to Isaac on successfully completing his Level 1 Assistant Coach qualification!

Coaching courses like this are an important step in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to coach students safely and effectively. At Bluewave, we place a strong emphasis on continual coach development to ensure our members receive the best possible guidance and support in every class and competition.

Well done to Isaac on taking this step in his coaching journey!

Entries are now open for the Kixstar Open - Poomsae Edition, in Crawley, on Saturday 1st August.

This is an ideal event for newer competitors, as well as experienced ones. If you are interested in entering this competition please let us know as soon as possible.

Well done to Master Gerry Reilly who attended last month’s World Taekwondo Para MNA Development Workshop in London.

This dedicated Para Taekwondo workshop was delivered by senior World Taekwondo leadership at Lee Valley Athletic Centre in London. It provided a rare opportunity to gain direct insight from the people shaping Para Taekwondo globally and focus on how to strengthen our national pathway across coaching, classification, and event delivery.

A big shout out and huge well done to Gerry and Gini, who also competed at last weekend’s London Open Poomsae G1 and WT Presidents Cup Europe G3; both representing the GB Poomsae Elite Team.

A massive well done to the Bluewave team who competed at last weekend’s 2026 WT President’s Cup Europe G3!

Following the London Open G1 on the Saturday, the our team stepped back onto the mats for another tough day of international competition. Competing at a G-ranked event is a huge experience, especially for those attending their first one, and every athlete represented the club brilliantly against a strong field of competitors from across Europe and beyond. We couldn’t be prouder of the performances, attitude, and commitment shown throughout the day.
