MEDAL MONDAY! Coached athlete Elizabeth completed her first ever marathon at London yesterday in 4:04. She was running it for her daughter Florence and managed to raise a HUGE amount of money for Speech & Language Therapy UK!
In six months, we've consistently built up mileage, but we've also developed strength and stability in the gym, tested nutrition and caffeine tolerance and trained her gut to absorb 80g carbs/hr during the race, worked on developing pacing and feel, and got a half-marathon personal best along the way.

So so proud of Alice, who won silver at the European duathlon championships yesterday at her first GB event. When Alice can on board as a coached athlete, she told me her goal was to race for her country. Six months (and a lot of training) later, she’s done it! So excited to see what this amazing lady can achieve for rest of the season …

What helps set the mindset you need to get a new Personal Best?
This weekend, coached athlete Elizabeth ran a superb race at the Paddock Wood Half Marathon, coming home in a PB time of 1hr43. Elizabeth is in training for the London Marathon and has been ticking off her sessions like clockwork - motivated by a very special reason.
Elizabeth's 6-year-old daughter, Florence, has a rare motor speech disorder called CAS. This meant that for the first 4 years of her life, she didn't speak at all. She couldn't tell her parents she was happy, hurt or hungry. She spent her preschool years in silence. Since then, Florence has been slowly, painstakingly, learning to speak, one sound at a time. Hours of therapy, hours of repetition, hours of concentration. A marathon for sure.
In honour of Florence, Elizabeth is running her own first marathon, fitting in her training around Florence's therapy sessions, hospital visits and school interventions. She is raising money for the charity Speech and Language UK, whose early interventions can make a real difference on the lives of those children struggling to find their voices, and waiting to be heard.

GB Age-Group legend Steve Clark took 2 minutes off his half marathon PB at the Maidenhead Half a fortnight ago - despite breaking a rib just five weeks prior to the race.
We have been working on improving Steve's stride length and speed endurance ready for the upcoming T100 World Championships in Qatar, and the results are starting to show!
