A fabulous article in The Times this week about talking to frustrated teenagers. It's actually relevant to talking to all frustrated children.

Snippets from it are:

"Too many of us try to put ourselves in the other person's shoes but we can't"

"Avoid making their problems silly or insignificant, not asking too many questions and but putting then under pressure"

"If you put them in a corner they'll fight"

"It's better to say I get the impression of it seems to me" rather than I understand how you feel as you don't!
