Cricket & Sports Club members past & present are invited to the Closing Party of HSBC Sports & Social Club on Saturday 17th October.

Whilst it's incredibly sad that the Sports Club is closing, let's get together at The Club for the final time.

There is various sport on throughout the day & a DJ in the evening!

(This doesn't impact on the ongoing discussions between NBCC, HSBC and Crystal Palace regarding the possible use of the ground for the 2027 cricket season.)

🏏 A couple of wins to finish off the season!

A Club Friendly XI was victorious at Sidcup, despite a flurry of late wickets meaning the innings was declared with 3 balls to go as the next man in was still umpiring!

The Sunday 1st team completed their season with a solid win away at Locksbottom to make it 19 wins from 20 completed games this year!

POV it's (probably) your final ever game at HSBC Sports & Social Club 😢

The Club is devastated to have been told that HSBC are selling the ground at New Beckenham.

The ground has been home to the Club in one guise or another for well over a century.

The Club is currently assessing all our options and will be in touch with members as soon as any progress is made.

🚨 Milestone Alert! 🚨

Huge congratulations to Kevin Dare, who has reached the incredible milestone of 1,000 innings for the Club!

Kevin is only the 3rd person in recorded Club history to have reached this milestone, behind Don Rogers, who reached the milestone in 1990 and Dickie Wilson, who got there in 2002.

Across his 1,000 innings Kevin has accumulated 8,691 runs @ 16.24, with a top score of 73. Incredibly, Kevin has been not out 465 times! This is 175 times more than anyone else - his Dad, Brian, is in 2nd place with 290 not outs!

Kevin's also taken 1,065 wickets & 390 catches for the Club, he took on his first captaincy role in 1985, and more recently has skippered the 4th XI to back to back league championships in 2025 & 2026!

Congratulations Kevin!

📸 Special thanks to for the excellent pictures of Kevin's 1,000th innings!

The final post in our series looking back 100 years to see how the 1st XI got on in the 1926 season.

The Club was playing as Midland Bank Cricket Club, with roots going back as far as the 1871 season.

The 1st XI finished the season unbeaten with the record of: P24 W12 D12 L0. A fantastic achievement for all involved!

Swipe to the end for a look at the 1st team averages for 1926.
