Bedford Celtics Man of the Match: Gethin Jenkins! ⚽🔥

What a performance! A huge congratulations to Gethin Jenkins, who picked up Man of the Match in our thrilling 3-2 away victory against Kempston Rural!

Gethin was involved in all three goals, scoring one and assisting two to lead the team to our first win of the season. Fantastic effort from Gethin and the whole team! 🟩⬜

FT: AFC Kempston Rural 2–3 Bedford Celtic

What a game on the road! After a deadlocked, goalless first half, Bedford Celtic came out strong after the break to take a deserved 2–0 lead through goals from Gethin Jenkins and Nathaniel Alexis-Lendore.

The hosts pulled one back to make it 2–1, setting up a tense finish, but Nico Best struck in the 85th minute to give us what seemed like comfortable breathing room.

Kempston Rural clawed another goal back shortly after to make it 3–2, leading to a frantic final few minutes that felt like an absolute eternity, but the lads held firm through injury time to bring all three points home!

Full-time at the Rovers Ground ⏱️
Bedford Celtic 1–2 Kempston Rovers

A proper battle out there today. Took on a quality Kempston Rovers side and pushed them right to the absolute wire. Ben Jones got us on the scoresheet with a crisp finish, but despite throwing everything at it right until the final whistle, it just wasn't our day.

A few... questionable decisions from the official today, but we won't dwell on that. You win as a team, you take the knocks as a team. Plenty of positives to take from the lads' work rate and character on the pitch.

We brush ourselves down, learn the lessons, and go again. Massive fixture coming up next week.

Up the Celts 🍀💚

🏆 MAN OF THE MATCH: JOSHUA DAWKIN ⚽️

This week's MOTM award goes to Joshua Dawkin for a standout performance on the opening day against Hawkins.

Josh worked relentlessly and grabbed our opening goal of the season with a sharp finish after turning home Russell West’s header.

Well played, Dawks! 👏⚽️
