The Lodge Bar played host to a gripping Barker Campbell Cup Final as CCCโs and St Matthewโs produced a contest full of momentum swings, tension, and quality throughout โ a final that went right down to the wire before St Matthewโs emerged victorious in dramatic fashion.
CCCโs made the brighter start on the night, with Francie Murdock setting the tone by taking the opener against Paul Farrelly with a composed finish. Matthew Doherty followed up with another assured performance, doubling the early advantage with a controlled display over Ethan Rogan to put CCCโs 2โ0 ahead
St Matthewโs responded in the third, as Darren Carlisle Snr steadied things with a vital frame win over James Fitzsimons to get his side on the board. That response quickly turned into momentum, with Joe Murphy levelling matters at 2โ2 after edging past Eamon McAviney in a tight encounter.
The turnaround was complete in the next frame as Jimbo Farrelly delivered under pressure, taking a crucial frame against Pat Dewar to give St Matthewโs a 3โ2 lead and firmly swing the momentum.
CCCโs, however, refused to let the match drift. Andy Forster produced a vital contribution in frame six, digging deep in a tense battle with Gerard Curran to level the match once again at 3โ3.
The seventh frame saw St Matthewโs regain control, with Peter Kavanagh capitalising on his chances to overcome Paddy McAviney and restore their lead. That advantage was quickly extended as Darren Carlisle Jnr showed great composure to defeat Sean Stewart, putting St Matthewโs within touching distance at 5โ3.
With the cup slipping away, CCCโs needed a response โ and they found it. John King delivered a massive frame under pressure, defeating Patrick Ferris to keep hopes alive, before Tambo McNeill held his nerve superbly against Paddy Murphy Jnr to level the contest at 5โ5 and send the final into a deciding frame.
The atmosphere in the Lodge Bar reached its peak as everything came down to one final frame.
John Murdock stepped up for CCCโs, but it was St Matthewโs who would have the final say. Gerard OโNeill produced a composed and clinical display under immense pressure, taking control of the decider and guiding his side to a 6โ5 victory to seal the Barker Campbell Cup.
Celebrations followed for St Matthewโs after a hard-fought triumph in a final that showcased everything the Belfast Interpool League is about โ quality, resilience, and drama from start to finish. It was a huge night for the Short Strand men and one that will spur their team on further.

A packed Kashmir Bar provided the perfect stage for a truly memorable Gerry Brennan Cup Final, as TLTA and Suffolk Inn went toe-to-toe in a dramatic encounter played in front of the Brennan family, with Liam Brennan proudly presenting the trophies on a night that fittingly honoured the legacy behind the competition.
From the opening break, TLTA showed their intent. Daniel Gorman set the tone with a composed and clinical display to take the opener against Mark McLaughlin, before Danny Gaskin doubled the early advantage with a controlled performance to see off Alan Irvine. With confidence flowing, John Reid extended the lead to 3โ0, showcasing tactical prowess against Barry McLaughlin to put TLTA firmly in command.
Suffolk Inn, however, were never going to lie down. Gerard McKeown sparked the comeback with a crucial frame against Pearse Sharratt, steadying the ship before Dermy McCorry followed up with another vital contribution, edging past Hugh Brownlee to reduce the deficit and shift the momentum.
Just as Suffolk looked to be building a surge, Billy Gorman delivered a huge frame for TLTA, restoring a two-frame cushion with a composed finish against Paddy Crawford after the Suffolk man was very unlucky following a great pot. Yet again Suffolk responded, with Gareth Devlin producing a quality performance to overcome David Dorrian and keep the pressure firmly on.
The match swung dramatically in Suffolkโs favour in the next two frames. John Rogan showed nerves of steel to defeat Liam McVeigh and level the contest at 4โ4, before Ciaran Digne completed the turnaround, capitalising on a missed opportunity from Ray McKenna to put Suffolk Inn 5โ4 ahead for the first time on the night.
With the cup within touching distance, the pressure was immense โ and Paddy Masterson rose to the occasion for TLTA. In a tense and tactical frame against Kieran Catney, he held his nerve to force a deciding frame and send the packed venue into a frenzy.
And so it all came down to one final frame.
Martin Loughran stepped forward with everything on the line, facing Ciaran Short in a decider that encapsulated the entire evening โ tight, tactical, and filled with tension. With both players trading blows, the frame hung in the balance until Loughran seized his moment. Under the most intense pressure imaginable, he produced a stunning finish, coolly dispatching what will long be remembered as the โblack of the seasonโ to seal a famous victory for TLTA.
The eruption that followed told its own story.
Loughranโs heroics earned him a richly deserved Man of the Match award, while TLTA lifted the Gerry Brennan Cup in front of an appreciative crowd and the Brennan family, in a final that perfectly captured the spirit, quality, and drama of the Belfast Interpool League.
A night of pride, passion, and a finish for the ages โ exactly what the Gerry Brennan Cup is all about. The match was played in great spirit with friendly rivalry in show. A credit to both teams

Sliabh Dubh enjoyed a memorable night on home turf as they lifted the Sean Connolly Cup with a convincing 6โ3 victory over CCCโs, sealing the title in front of their own supporters in a fitting finale to the competition.
The final began with an early setback for the hosts when James Fitzsimons produced a composed performance to give CCCโs the opening frame, defeating Mickey McCausland Snr to put the visitors ahead.
Sliabh Dubh responded quickly. Ray May steadied the ship with a solid win over Dean Begley, levelling the tie and settling the early nerves inside the packed venue.
From there the momentum began to swing firmly toward the home side. Stephen Lynch delivered a strong performance to overcome Francie Murdock, before Brian McDonnell followed up with another important frame against Sean Stewart, pushing Sliabh Dubh into the lead and igniting the home support.
CCCโs refused to fade quietly and pulled one back when Pat Dewar edged out Michael Hickey in a tight contest to keep the visitors within touching distance. Tambo McNeill kept CCCโs hopes alive with a well-taken frame against Patrick Strong, reducing the deficit and briefly halting Sliabh Dubhโs momentum, it would ultimately prove only a temporary reprieve as the hosts quickly regained control of the tie.
However, the hosts regained control almost immediately. Patrick Mallon produced a key victory over John Murdock, stretching the lead once more and putting Sliabh Dubh firmly on course for the trophy.
With the finish line in sight, Darren Gibson delivered another crucial frame for the hosts, defeating Eamon McAviney to move Sliabh Dubh to within touching distance of the title. This earned him the coveted Man of the Match award for the cup final.
The winning moment came courtesy of James Paterson, who showed great composure under pressure to defeat Matthew Doherty, securing the sixth and decisive frame and sparking celebrations among the Sliabh Dubh players and supporters.
Winning a cup is always special, but doing so in their own venue made the triumph even sweeter for Sliabh Dubh, who produced a strong all-round team performance to claim the Sean Connolly Cup in style.

Pocket Rockets A etched their name into Belfast Interpool League history with a commanding 6โ1 victory over hosts Dwyerโs to capture the John โBapโ OโNeill Cup, marking a memorable night as the club claimed its first ever cup final success.
Played in front of a lively crowd in Michael Dwyerโs, the visitors produced a superb team performance, racing into an early lead and never allowing the hosts a route back into the contest.
The opening frame set the tone for the evening as Daniel Connor got Pocket Rockets A off to a perfect start, defeating Pat Pyper to give the visitors an early advantage.
Momentum continued to build when Gareth Hughes, who would later be named Man of the Match, delivered an excellent display to overcome David McNeill, doubling the Rocketsโ lead and putting early pressure on the hosts. His final ball back double with the black sitting over the pocket was a highlight of the day.
Pocket Rockets A were soon three frames to the good when Michael Lyons produced another composed performance, defeating Sean McCafferty to leave Dwyerโs with plenty of work to do.
The visitors continued their relentless start as Kevin Flynn extended the lead further with a confident victory over Martin Heaney, leaving Pocket Rockets firmly in control of proceedings.
Dwyerโs looked to mount a response, but the Rockets refused to relent. Ryan Power maintained the visitorsโ dominance, overcoming Daniel Reid to move Pocket Rockets A to the brink of victory.
The hosts finally found a breakthrough when Gerard Francis Heaney pulled a frame back for Dwyerโs with a hard-fought win over Ciaran McAlea, drawing a loud cheer from the home support and offering a glimmer of hope.
Any thoughts of a comeback were quickly extinguished in the following frame, however, as Brian Crilly stepped forward to deliver the decisive blow. Producing a composed performance under pressure, he defeated Gerard Heaney to seal the sixth and winning frame and spark celebrations among the Pocket Rockets players and supporters.
For Pocket Rockets A, the victory represents a landmark moment for the team, lifting their first ever silverware in the Belfast Interpool League (in their first official season!) and doing so with an impressive display against the hosts on their own table.
On a night that will live long in the memory of the club, Pocket Rockets A proved too strong across the board, producing a performance worthy of champions to lift the John โBapโ OโNeill Cup in style.
