A tough day at the office for the Celts today.

It was scoreless at the break but with two injuries leading up to half time & a red card early into the second half, we came undone against a good st James side.
The lads competed well, but it wasn't our day unfortunately.

We will dust ourselves down & onto next week we go! 🍀💚

The league campaign continues this Saturday as Clifton Celtic welcome St James’ Swifts for Match Day 2! ⚽️

⚽ FULL TIME | CLIFTON CELTIC 2–1 CRUMLIN CELTIC 🟢⚪

What a way to start the league campaign! 💚

It wasn’t the start we wanted, going a goal down after just 10 seconds following a questionable decision, but the lads showed great character to turn things around.

We got ourselves back on level terms shortly after when Conor McCaffrey stepped up and calmly converted from the penalty spot. ⚽️

We then took the lead through a fantastic goal from our Vice Captain, Sean Montgomery. A brilliant run from defensive midfield saw Sean drive forward before slotting the ball home to put us 2–1 ahead. 🔥

Things got even tougher after we were reduced to 10 men after half an hour, but the boys dug incredibly deep, battled for every ball and showed real determination to see the game out.

2–1 at full time and three massive points in our opening league game! 👊🏻
