She was recipient of the 2006 Herbert Lumby Prize for violinists, finalist of the 2007 Sylvia Cleaver Chamber Prize and the same year was accepted onto the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra training scheme. She has been appointed as a freelancer in the CBSO and currently the leader of Birmingham String Quartet.

Kiki Chen was selected as a solo violinist at House of Lords, Parliment, London, on 26 Nov 2010, for the memorial event of Bombay terrotist attack in 2009, where she presented the Indian anthem and Asian classical music.
