SMCC is a community cricket club based in the Yardley area of East Birmingham, roughly halfway between Solihull and Birmingham City Centres.
We currently run 3 Adult Saturday Sides, 1 Sunday league team and our thriving junior section play within the Warwickshire Cricket Board competitions. Congratulations to the U13s, who secured the U13 Championship this morning with a 1 run victory over Corley. The boys have gone unbeaten all season and managed to hold their nerve against great opposition.
Thanks to everyone for their support, from the coaches - and Zain in particular - the parents and the WCF for running the competition. Finally credit to the young Corley side who made for a great game of cricket - a credit to everyone involved.
The U11s semi final with Rugby, also took place today, but was unfortunately abandoned due to the deteriorating weather.

The club are saddened to hear of the passing of former player, treasurer, quiz officiando and hon life vice President Rhys Williams, pictured here keeping wicket on tour in Devon.
Our thoughts with Heather, who has sent the below message at this time.
To those at SMCC who remember Rhys Williams, a player and club official from the early 1980s to 1993, affectionately known as "Chiefo!', I have to give you the sad news that he died in the early hours of Tuesday 9 September. He loved the club and spent many long and happy hours there. His funeral will be on Monday 29th September at 2pm at Christ Church the Quinton Hagley Road West B32 1AJ.
