After an impressive start to pre season with a 51-10 victory against a competitive Crewe and Nantwich side! Our Women's team are back in action today for a charity game against Chester Devas to be held at Shrewsbury RFC!

Kick off is 1pm with plenty going on as part of the day!

It's game week and new head coach Conor Madden, has named his first side as the women welcome Crewe and Nantwich for their first pre season friendly which will feature as part of a double header of rugby at Sutton Rugby Club tomorrow! 🎉

No less than 5 new signings feature in tomorrow's squad as players look to compete for their shirts for this season 💪

The women will kick off at 12pm followed by the men who welcome Shrewsbury at 3pm! 🏉

Pre-Season Week 1 Complete ✅

Fantastic numbers at our first two sessions! The standard has been set high and we're looking to deliver on our goals!

*COUNTY SUCCESS*

Congratulations to Abi Porteous, Jo Hart and Liz Fletcher who all starred for Warwickshire Women in yesterday’s 27-7 Gill Burns County Championship success against Cheshire at Barker Butts RFC.

Vice-captain Jo Hart once again leading the way with another two tries, backing up the brace she got last week in the win over East Midlands.

Exciting times for the girls as they travel away to Eastern Counties next week knowing that a win will see them top their pool and qualify for the final against the other pool winners with all the finals being staged at Twickenham.

Congratulations to Sarah, Izzy, Lucy and Courtney on their victory today at the inner warrior series tournament hosted by Silhillians!

Our four players teamed up with Fiveways for the day and the mixed squad earned themselves some fantastic results!

See the below summary from Head coach George:

Sutton Coldfield merged with Fiveways in today's Inner Warrior festival. We won both our pool games, with Sarah James scoring three tries, including a 60m worldie down the left wing, and debutant Courtney Wilkins scoring her first try and a cheeky conversion. Issy Currie was a real team player throughout, filling in a number of positions where required, and was a safe pair of hands throughout. Lucy Pearson made some barnstorming carries and fantastic tackles before being forced from the pitch as a precaution. The Fiveways players were pretty good as well!

We played Silhillians in the final, and shot off to a 5-0 lead, before they pulled it back to 5-5. After the forwards drove into the 22, the ball was shipped wide and Courtney scored in the corner, and stout defence saw us through to a 10-5 victory.

Well done all! 🎉

Congratulations and good luck to Jo, Abi and Fletch who are yet again representing Warwickshire County Senior Women's team this weekend!

Also representing our junior team is Lily who has been selected for the under 15's squad!
