Well that was a pretty gruelling day! GTUK Black Belt Grading day, with Mr Plant and Mr Duffield seeking their 2nd Degree and 3.5 Drgree respectively. Both successful, looking forward to a few days rest before we start again on the next level!

Just like to offer my thanks to all those other instructors who invited us to train with them while our club was closed, as well as those who have given their guidance and assistance along the way, notably Mr Charles Baker, Miss Amy Ridgard, Miss Emma Price and Mr Simon Booth, all of whom provided valuable pointers from their huge pool of experience and knowledge that helped get me across the line today.

Just a few photos of some of the students who took their grading on Thursday evening under Grand Master Roy Oldham, IXth degree. 100% pass rate achieved, and great standards shown by all students. Lots of hard work put in by all of these students, and all delighted to have been promoted.

Dear Tae Kwon-do, Happy 70th Birthday! Thank you so much for all you’ve taught me, the places you’ve taken me and experiences you’ve given me. And especially, thank you for all the friends you have brought into my life who are now my extended family.

This is our very own assistant instructor, Dan Plant, freshly returned from the LTSI championships where he was representing the England GTUK development squad last weekend.

Sporting a gold medal for sparring, this just adds to Dans growing collection of medals and trophies.

Dan is a regular instructor at Quicksilver, provides great support to the students, and is a regular in the England team.

Congratulations to Dan, from all at Quicksilver tae kwon do. 

Last night Quicksilver joined Sumners (Knowle) TKD for our first grading of the year, supervised by our 9th Degree Grand Master Roy Oldham (far left).

A challenging event for all taking part, especially those taking their first ever grading exam - these guys ranged in age from 4 to 47, but overcame any nerves and delivered a good grading.

All entrants passed and were promoted, so a very successful evening, and lots of smiles at the end.

A large part of Tae Kwondo is ATTITUDE - it’s easy to decide something is too hard, but it takes effort to achieve anything worth having.

Congratulations to all of the students, and many thanks to our Grand Master and Senior black belts for making the evening a success.

The Korean martial art of taekwondo can improve your fitness, flexibility and confidence, in a friendly and welcoming club.

We are offering free trial lessons throughout February – the first two lessons are completely free.

We train at Christchurch Hall Green (formally Hallgreen Baptist Church), 1250 Stratford Rd, Hall Green, B28 9BQ

Tuesday evenings:

Kids (5 to 11) from 7 pm to 8 pm

Juniors and adults (12+) 7.00 pm to 8:30 pm. 

If Tuesday doesn’t suit you, why not try our sister club, Sumners (Knowle) Taekwondo-do at Arden Academy, Station Rd, Knowle B93 0PT.

We train here on Thursday evenings, from 6.30pm to 8 pm.

Coaching again at Cardinal Wiseman school this afternoon, new class of students who have very little experience in Taekwondo. Was able to present the Best Student award for the Winter 2024 term last week (not allowed to show photos as no consent form from the students) but the reaction of the winning student when it was announced as priceless !😊

Let’s see what we can do with this term’s intake!
