Among the general population 20.6% of people have had suicidal thoughts at some time, that’s 1/5 of our population😱 6.7% have attempted su***de and 7.3% have engaged in self-harm

Our facilities may be shut but our work has not stopped. Mental illness is the second-largest source of burden of disease in England. Mental illnesses are more common, long-lasting and impactful than other health conditions such as cancer. Mental ill health is responsible for 72 million working days lost and costs £34.9 billion each year. The total cost of mental ill health in England is estimated at £105 billion per year.

According to published research, 1 in 4 adults experience some form of mental health issue at some point each year. At any given time, 1 in 6 working age adults experience symptoms associated with mental ill health

Raising money and awareness for Mind Mental Health Charity💙

Last year (2019) was a record high number of su***de deaths resulting from mental health disorders. Unfortunately, I think it’s only inevitable that this year will be a year like no other
.
Now, more than ever before, people are struggling. Each and every day is getting harder and harder. Due to the current restrictions in place, many people have now lost even the simplest of help methods such as social interaction, seeing friends and family and now also exercise methods such as gyms
.
In the year 2019, an average of 15 people per day committed su***de due to mental ill health, with over 90% of those deaths being considered ‘preventable’. Us ourselves can do a huge amount to help those in need but without the support networks in place that are provided by organisations such as Mind, this number would be substantially higher
.
Starting today, every single day we continue to be in lockdown I will perform 15 burpees to represent each individual who took their own life last year on that exact day. I am reaching out and asking that anyone who would like to join in with this challenge, or would simply like to donate towards this fantastic cause, if you are in a financial position to do so, please donate. Every pound will go a long way to helping so many, and if we can save just 1 life with our efforts and generosity, then this will all have been worth it!

Lockdown 2.0

So, here we go AGAIN.
.
Just because the country has stopped does not mean that your progress and achievements must stop also! You are legally allowed to exercise outside with one other person and therefore PT will continue!
.
I have specific days and times available for sessions, and also 2 locations; cleveleys by JD Gym, and Poulton park. For training kit I have 2 lightweight barbells with 50kg worth of weight plates, a 12kg kettlebell and resistance bands as well as our natural surroundings such as the beach. Sessions are of course weather dependant but a little rain is no excuse!
.

I have taken time off social media, tried to take myself away from the hugely negative vibes that surround it and put all off my time into my family and work!

I have a new drive, a new fire inside and I’m more hungry than ever before! Time to change, time to improve and time to get to where I have always wanted to get!
.
Let’s get this dad bod gone and get in my best ever shape! Can’t be looking like this when I have at home looking absolutely unreal😍

Big arm session done, now for my protein and fast digesting carbs🤙🏼 (there was a few more sweets than this but I was late taking the picture🤷🏻♂️)

I am going to start documenting more of my own training and my routine. Partly for accountability and partly to educate a little on physique changes without the boring strict lifestyle that is so often associated with it!

Gate crashed Lou’s baby shower didn’t I🤷🏻♂️

It has been a roller coaster past few months for everyone! The long awaited day for the gyms to reopen is just around the corner! The last thing you want is to return and then be out injured for weeks and miss out on even more training time
