What a great first season the boys have had

These lads have become the best of friends on and off the pitch 🫶🏼

Unfortunately there was only 4 trophies up for grabs tonight, but every single one of these lads played their part this season 💪 💛

⚽️ St Anne’s Tournament ⚽️

Today the Hornets took part in the St Anne’s U7 tournament, and what a fantastic day ☀️

The lads played 5 mini league games and managed to get all the way to the final 😮‍💨 narrowly missing out on lifting the trophy 🏆

Some fantastic goals throughout the day, with a rocket of a free kick from Charlie 🚀

Super proud of every single one of the lads. It was a long day but they gave their all until that final whistle 🫶🏼

Excellent performance from both teams, with plenty of goals for the spectators ⚽️

PMOTM - Max, some great goals but also his work rate today was second to none 🏆

CMOTM - Jack, excellent performance and great talking throughout the game 🏆

It’s been a great first season with this bunch of lads, it’s brilliant to see how close the Hornets boys are and what a great team they are developing into 🫶🏼 we’ve also got a cracking set of parents too 💛

Little break now then the boys will be back in action in a couple of tournaments across the Fylde 🥇

⚽️ Penultimate game of the season today away to Poulton Jaguars 🐝 🐆

Second time we’ve played the Jags, who are a very strong and well drilled team 👏

Excellent competitive game with both teams giving it their all 💪

The Hornets worked really hard today both in and out of possession. Some wonderful goals from Max ⚽️ and some outstanding saves from Logan 🥅 ❌ 😮‍💨

Derby Day….this time against our Clifton Bees 🐝

It’s been a while since the two teams have met, but what a cracking game from start to finish 💛

Both teams went for it from the first whistle, battling and working really hard for their teams 🤝

Last week’s performance from the Hornet boys was brilliant, but today they seem to go one better! 🫶🏼

Every one of the boys put a shift in and fought until that final whistle! ⚽️

Parents POTM goes to Jack. His best game in a long time and even got on the score sheet ⚽️ 🏆

Coaches POTM goes to Taylor. Protected his goal keeper well today with some great defensive tackles 💪 🏆

The Bees gave their POTM which goes to Logan. EXCELLENT between the sticks today! he’s been nursing a sore hand the past few weeks, but back to his best today 🥅 🧤

Full team day today as the boys celebrate Max’s 7th birthday this afternoon 🥳 🎮🎂

Lytham Blues v Clifton Hornets 🤝

This morning the boys were back up at Lytham to play Lytham Blues, this time in the league

Fantastic first half performance from both teams, they all worked really hard and gave it their all

Some great defensive work from the Hornets for the majority of the game keeping the Blues at bay for as long as possible 💪

Player of the match goes to the 2 Lou’s 👏

Parents player of the match goes to Louis P. He’s really starting to hold his own, he’s getting much stronger and is really enjoying his football at the moment ….even had a short cameo in goal again to help out 🧤🏆

Coaches player of the match goes to Louie L. Excellent performance today, his concentration was fantastic, he didn’t stop running all game and put some great tackles in 🤜🏼🤛🏼 🏆

The coaches are super proud of them all today, a lot of positives to take from today’s game

Derby Day 🐝

This morning the boys took on our friends Clifton Wasps 🤝

As always, a great (tight) battle with all the boys wanting the bragging rights 🤩

The Hornets started off slow, and heads started to drop, but the boys managed to see it out until half time.

Second half the boys shook it off and really started to click, some brilliant goals and great defending from them all 👏 🥅

Parents player of the match goes to Charlie, another fantastic performance. His love for the game is unconditional 🏆

Coaches player of the match goes to our goalie Logan. His emotions got the better of him in the first half, but reassurance at half time made all the difference! Excellent second half of the game 👏 🏆

🏆 Hogan Cup 🏆

Today the boys played their first competitive match in the first round of the Hogan Cup 🏆

Early start with a 9am kickoff in Lytham against Lytham Blues ⚽️ 🤝

The boys started a little slow and struggled to get into their usual rytham on quite tough pitch conditions. However the boys battled hard and managed to grab a couple of goals 🥅 ⚽️

Parents player of the match goes to Max. Worked hard and scored a lovely goal 👏

Coaches player of the match goes to Jack. Got struck in as usual and did great at covering 🙌🏽

Unfortunately the Hornets exit the Hogan Cup
in the first round, sometimes football matches don’t quite go to plan, but the important thing is learning and coming back stronger 💪 💛

We’d like to wish Phil and Lytham Blues all the best in the next round 🩵

Another tough weekend for the boys in some difficult weather conditions 🌧️ 🥶

Todays game was a real test of character for the lads facing a strong organised opposition

Tough game today against a very good Jaguar side. It took a while for the boys to get going but as always, put a good shift in until the end and worked really hard

Lots of positives to take from today, the main one being encouraging each other and not giving in 💪 🫶🏼
