Blaenavon Blues Under 7’s Football

Over the Easter bank holiday weekend, our Under 7’s team travelled to Burnham-on-Sea for a fantastic tour filled with fun, laughter, and of course, plenty of football. ⚽️

Off the pitch, the boys made the most of every moment, enjoying swimming, theme park rides, and time in the arcades. It was great to see them having so much fun together and building friendships along the way. 🎢🏊🏼‍♂️

On Saturday, we faced a local team, giving our players the chance to showcase their skills. With slightly different rules in play the boys embraced the challenge—especially stepping up to play with a goalkeeper. Each player took their turn between the posts, showing great bravery, teamwork, and determination. Nothing held them back! 🥅⚽️

It’s safe to say this weekend created memories that will last a lifetime. The bond between every member of the team continues to grow, and it’s truly special to watch. 💙

And it wasn’t just the kids who had a great time—the parents certainly enjoyed themselves too (maybe even a little too much!). It really showed that we’re not just a team, but one big, happy football family. 😁

After a long, rain filled winter, we finally made the most of the yellow thing in the sky and returned to the pitch for training.

Our Trainer of the Night goes to Thomas. From the very beginning of the session, he showed great enthusiasm and determination to win every tackle, putting in some brilliant challenges throughout. He’s been improving week on week, and tonight is his reward for all the hard work he’s been putting in! keep up the great work⚽️

All of the boys and siblings were gifted a chocolate egg, and I’m pretty sure not many of them made it past the car park before they were eaten 🤣

Now the focus turns to our annual end of season football tour 💙

That’s a wrap! Our young Blues finished their first official season today in typical Blaenavon weather against Cwmbrân Athletic🌧️

In a season full of highs and lows, we couldn’t be prouder of how much our boys have developed. We played two games this morning, and both were full of action, with a great mix of long and short passing, as well as some fantastic goals on display.

Our first Man of the Match today goes to Hadleigh. He showed some really impressive composure on the ball, drove the team up the pitch with some great dribbling, and rounded off his performance with a goal. He’s getting better every week and is developing into a complete all-rounder.

Our second Man of the Match goes to Archie. In his first-ever football match, he didn’t look out of place. He put in some excellent tackles, showed good composure on the ball, and listened well to his coaches’ instructions. He’s going to be a fantastic addition to the squad.

Big shoutout to our Trainers of the Night: Louie and Oscar! Both lads showed incredible effort, diving into the drills with enthusiasm. They weren't shy about putting in some impressive tackles either! It's fantastic to see how much their confidence is growing when they're on the ball. A huge well done to all the boys, who are really starting to look for those passes and dribble with the ball, instead of just booting it. Keep up the great work, everyone! ⚽️💙

Congratulations to Hudson, our Trainer of the Week tonight! He showed some really nice, tidy touches and great control during the drills, followed by some excellent close dribbling and finishing.

He was full of energy during the game and made plenty of impressive tackles to win the ball back for his team and start new attacks. He was also very impressive on set plays and showed he has a great delivery in his locker too!

Our Trainer of the Night tonight goes to Archie. He’s only recently joined our team, and each week you can see his determination to learn and improve his skills. He loves a big tackle, but what really impressed the coaches was his calmness on the ball and his strong dribbling from one side of the pitch to the other.

Tonight he showed a great blend of a really strong defensive display at the back and some very impressive striking of the ball, which resulted in some good goals in attack.
