The ladies produced their best performance of the season in arguably their biggest game as they overcame Suttoners to claim the Hundred Cup.
Having won the toss and fielded, the ladies started as they meant to go on with Marla Richards and Odette Armstrong (both 1-9) bowling tight spells without reward. However, the introduction of Amy Kinsey (2-9) sparked a glut of dismissals as five wickets fell in 20 balls.
Rose Lovett (1-8), Noorsana Veersasan (1-11), and Richards all claimed wickets in that whirlwind spell, and the Suttoners' innings never recovered from there. The ladies continued to pile on the pressure in the field and Armstrong and Erin Friend (2-11) helped themselves to late wickets as Suttoners made it to 67-9, with a net score of 222.
With low chases being sometimes tricky, the ladies set about their chase in a sensible manner knowing that no fireworks were needed. Armstrong and Richards (both 8) were happy to tick along for their 20 ball spell, Emily Bowles (6) and Vienna Wilkinson (3) did the same and their efforts alongside the extras had the ladies in a winning position. Emma Restorick-Kinsey (16) struck a trio of boundaries as the ladies moved towards an unassailable lead on net score, and it wasn't until the 77th ball that the ladies lost their first wicket.
However, by that time the game was all but up: further runs from Lucy Kinsey (12) helped all but secure the win, and Erin Friend (13) and a final ball boundary from Amy Kinsey (9) put the exclamation mark on the win. The ladies closed on 125-2, a net score of 315 and a victory by a 93 run margin.
It was a fitting end to the competitive season as captain Rose Lovett lifted the trophy, with the ladies having also finished 3rd in the softball league and made the Super 8's hardball semi-final. Well done to all the players who have represented the side in all competitions this season on a very successful season.

This will be Mark and Rachel's final season in the role, and the club would like to thank them for their efforts over the past few years.
The ladies finish their season on Sunday as they host Weymouth and Fair Oak in a softball festival. Dorch face Fair Oak at 10am on Sunday in the first game, and the bar will be open from midday as the action will continue into the afternoon. The ladies are always on the lookout for new players of all abilities, so please contact the club if you wish to get involved.
