Our wonderful team was founded in 2024, where we compete in the Under 9 Longrock East League.

An eventful game to start our season today!

It was great to welcome back Ivy back for her first games of the season, also Akif for his 2nd game back 🤝

Jowan made some solid saves in every quarter that kept the game at a competitive scoreline. His kicking was opening doors in attack that most keepers can't do. Top effort 💪

Jaxon got on the scoresheet, when he got hold of the ball and let away a technically brilliant half volley, which curled away into the corner out of the keeper's reach.

Jack then opened his goalscoring account by scoring from range. His well-placed shot finding the bottom left corner from a fair distance away.

Arlo C then took matters into his own hands, this saw him dispossess 1 player in the middle of the park, drive the ball forward to beat another 2 and got away a high shot over the keeper. A real spectacle of a goal that he should be proud of!

As a team, we moved the ball very well in some spells, but lost defensive shape during other parts of the game. This let Wadebridge get more goals than they should have and is something we'll have a think & work on at training on Thursday.

Zaccy earned Player of the Match this week. His impressive marking, persistent tackling and brilliant passing range saw him earn the trophy this week. Well done Zaccy! 🏆

A hard fought loss to St. Mawgan, who brought their shooting boots today. We started to test their defence in the later quarters, only to see our shots blocked or be just past the post.

Big performances from Leo at the back - with his brilliant passing and defensive commitment, Jowan in goal, kicking spectacularly and making big saves and finally Harvey.

Harvey BOSSED the middle of the park today and ran himself ragged. His tackling and passing set us away on attacks, using his physicality perfectly he made blocks and regained possession for the team countless times.

This all-action performance earned Harvey the Player of the Week Award Trophy 🏆, which will be given at training (as the trophy didn't make it to the game from last week).

Next week is a week off before our season opening home fixture against Wadebridge on September the 13th, kick off tbc

What a performance 🙌
Pre-season is off to a wonderful start with all players all putting in a shift against an impressive Biscovey team which have recruited since last season.

The scores matter less than the performances in pre-season, but both teams were fantastic today. Big effort and honest play was on show, with all players using their shooting boots all through the game.

Goals from Jack⚽️⚽️, Harvey⚽️⚽️, Arlo C⚽️ and Reuben⚽️ and super-saves from Jowan🧤, we looked good on the frontfoot as a team today, backed up by our secure defense.

Leo, Reuben and Arlo L all put in MASSIVE defensive displays today. This ensured we could concentrate on getting onto their half and attack.

If our players keep bringing this energy and hunger to succeed to every session this season, then we will start this season with a bang!

A massive performance from Jack today. 2 goals, some smart running and wonderful passing range on display. Jack stood out as top performer amongst a team full of superstars today.

Well done to Jack!

End of season do today for Bodmin Under 9s United FC. A fun round of football golf with Jaxon and Akif both shooting 94s as joint winners. Following that a quick FaceTime with coach Liam from an undisclosed location in the arctic circle, who had also very kindly arranged for ice creams for the team. Then on to the awards which were awarded as follows

- Players player - Jowan
- Parents player- Jowan
- Coaches player - Akif
- Most improved player - Reuben
- Golden boot - Ivy and Arlo C (joint)

There are lots of positives to take away looking ahead to next season, from some heavy defeats early in the season to all our games in the last couple of months being very tight….. all of the children have been working really hard and the improvement every single one of them has shown this year is testament to their commitment and their parents’ commitment to support them each week.

Hopefully everyone is looking forward to preseason already!

This team gave EVERYTHING today. Awesome effort by all 👏

We were electric in the first 2 quarters. Every one of them put in a monster performance and they should be proud. A bit of tiredness crept in, where the score got away from us, but we did SO MANY things well today.

Our first Joint-Player of the Match award was given today. Jowan earned his half (literally broken in 2. 💥Time for a new one) of the trophy with a wonderful performance. Many, many saves were on show. Jowan kicked wonderfully and even dealt with a few 1-on-1's with strikers perfectly. And that triple save. Mesmerising goalkeeping!

An equally impressive performance was put on by the ever-energetic Jaxon, who scored 2 wonderful strikes ⚽️ ⚽️ today. His pressure on the defense resulted in us getting on the frontfoot to set up attacks on many occasions.
He looks to be taking very well to the attacking side of the game.

Well done to St. Mawgan for a battling performance and their win.

On to the next one against Lanivet on May 3rd

What a game we had today!

Every single player put in massive effort, which had us just on the wrong side of a narrow loss to a good Biscovey team.

Our Team's effort in tackling, running and positioning were exactly where they needed to be today. This saw us look very solid in defense, which allowed us to build attacks and push forwards.

We got to look at some players trying out different positions today. Every player stuck at their task and did a good job of it 👌

Massive shout out to Arlo C for his brace of goals and winning player of the match ⚽️ ⚽️ 🏆. Arlo made the first goal with pure effort and tenacity, not giving up and deserves a lot of credit for turning pressure into a self-manufactured goal. His second goal crept around the keepers best efforts of saving it: but as we said to the team "if you don't shoot, you won't score!".

PLENTY of positives for us coaches to work with though!

A bit of a backlog of games due to horrible weather, but we've kept this Sunday free to say thanks to the player's Mums. They are a massive part of our team. Ever-present on the sidelines, they can be found cheering on the team at training and on matchdays in all weather conditions.

1 Sunday being spoiled away from football by the players (hopefully somewhere warm and not standing in the rain on the touchline) is the very least they deserve.

Our team last week away at Bude - A hard fought game that saw Bude defend very well, repelling every attack and restricting us to only a few chances.

Tried a few new things in this match, with players getting minutes in different positions. A tough game, but we never have up and kept fighting till the very end 💪

Tomorrow we look forward to playing Wadebridge at home
