Bolsover Town Lions Vs Wombwell Town
A TOUGH DAY A THE OFFICE 😮💨
Today, the Lions played host for the second week on the trot as we welcomed Wombwell Town to Moor Lane.
The Lions came flying out of the traps in the first half, showing the high-pressure style we’ve become accustomed to seeing. The pressure was relentless, forcing mistakes and allowing us to enjoy plenty of possession.
Chances were coming thick and fast, but we just couldn’t find that final bit of luck or finesse in front of goal. The Wombwell keeper certainly earned his keep, producing save after save to keep the Lions at bay.
Eventually, the pressure told, and Jacob found the back of the net to give the Lions a deserved and went in at half time ahead.

A positive team talk was held at half time, with the message simple — more of the same. High pressure, high tempo and the fluid football we know the Lions are capable of.
Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we couldn’t quite reproduce the intensity of the first half.
The Lions were caught on the counter, allowing Wombwell to find the equaliser with a tidy finish. The goal gave their players a huge lift, while unfortunately knocking the Lions’ confidence.
Wombwell then added a couple more goals, leaving the Lions with a mountain to climb and ultimately chasing a lost cause.
It certainly wasn’t our day, but it’s not all doom and gloom. There were plenty of positives to take away from the game.

There’s plenty for us to work on, but there’s also plenty to build on. One result doesn’t define this team — we dust ourselves down, learn from it and go again.
