At Buccaneers training on Saturday the lads were told 'always aim to pick up the win'...

Note to players: Picking up Wyn Price (Buccaneers legend) is missing the point.

A lot of sad Buccaneers today, Saturday’s game vs Halifax is postponed.
But in better news, Buccaneers and Valkyries are taking the opportunity of a free game day to get some mixed touch rugby in. The last game proved to be a brilliant showcase of inclusive rugby, bring it on 🏴‍☠️🪽🏉

BUCCANEERS 52
OSWESTRY FLYING EAGLES 48

It was a 100pt thriller in Shropshire on Saturday as the Buccaneers just edged a hotly contested game against our new rugby brothers, Oswestry Flying Eagles Mixed Ability Rugby.
A strong squad (including some not so strong, extremely hungover players) headed South to play a first ever fixture in Oswestry.
The game ebbed and flowed all afternoon with some brilliant passages of play from both teams - neither side gave an inch and as the game wore on, it was clear that it was going to the wire. Led by matchday Captain, Richard Polley, Buccaneers just shaded what was a very even game played completely in the spirit of what MA Rugby is about.
Some standout Bolton performances from Karl Jacques, Buccaneers debutant, Matthew Parrish and the mercurial and magical Matty Brennan.
Oswestry were first class hosts and both teams celebrated back in the clubhouse with some brilliant and also some terrible karaoke.... Sam Dingley - "Tequila" has only 3 words and is a cop out.
We can't wait to host our new mates back at The Theatre of Trees in January.

Bolton try scorers:
Karl Jacques (3)
Matty Brennan (2)
Leo Hope (2)
Matt Parrish
Richard Polley
Cons:
Matty Brennan
Mark Owen
