Leadership teams don't need another bland strategy day.

They need space to think differently.

Because no matter how good your strategy is, its success depends on the quality of thinking behind it.

After 25 years partnering with leadership teams, I've seen what happens when leaders are given the space to step back from the day-to-day, reconnect with each other and explore challenges from fresh perspectives.

Better decisions.

Greater innovation.

Stronger connections.

Clearer priorities.

I now help organisations design leadership strategy days, away days and retreats that combine leadership development, coaching, Multiple Brain Integration Techniques (mBIT) and wellbeing practices to create the conditions for better thinking.

If you're planning your H2 leadership offsite and want something more impactful than another day of PowerPoint slides and action logs, let's talk.

I am a day late with this but Happy June everyone ☀️

Yesterday I felt like the energy had been cleaned right out of me but after an early night, I am hoping to feel more re-energised today 🌳

Is anyone else wondering where 2026 has gone so far 🫣

Let's take a moment to remind ourselves of everything we have actually achieved so far this year... sit with it for a few moments and journal if you feel called. You will no doubt be surprised!

✨️What is one thing you are most proud of in 2026?

✨️One thing that excites you about the rest of the year?

Feel free to share in the comments 👇

Komorebi Moments ✨

Have you noticed your team's energy feeling a little out of balance?

You know some of them have had a lot going on outside of work recently...

Yet despite their continued high performance, they're carrying heavy workloads, with multiple project deadlines looming.

Strong leadership isn't about letting people keep pushing until they reach breaking point.

It's about recognising that high performance and wellbeing aren't mutually exclusive.

It's having compassion for people as human beings.

Creating space for clearer thinking. Encouraging meaningful pauses. Supporting sustainable ways of working, so that people can continue to thrive rather than simply survive.

Who might benefit from an energy check-in this week?

A branding expert, Tim Marner once asked me:

“If your brand was a TV or movie character… who would it be?” 🎬

At the time, I genuinely wasn’t sure.

But whilst building content for the Komorebi Coaching website and refining my brand direction… Moana kept coming to mind 🌊✨

Not because she’s fearless (she definitely doubts herself along the way), but because she has the courage and determination to find another way. To become a wayfinder. To question what’s always been done and explore a more human path forward — even when others don’t fully understand it yet.

And honestly… that feels very aligned with the work I want Komorebi Coaching to do with organisations.

Creating space for leaders and teams to pause, reflect, reconnect and lead differently in a world that rarely slows down. Challenging the idea that constant pressure is the only way to succeed.

More courage to pause.
More space to think differently.
More human ways to lead.

So maybe Komorebi Coaching does have a little Moana energy after all ✨

Now I’m curious… if your brand was a character, who would it be?

Over 25 years working in HR, organisational development, executive coaching and leadership development… I’ve attended and led a lot of leadership programmes.

Some were excellent.

Powerful frameworks. Great models. Inspiring speakers.

But often… too much information and not enough space.

Leaders leave with pages of notes and good intentions, then return to overflowing inboxes, relentless pressure and little time to truly reflect:

“So what?”
How will I actually apply this in how I lead?

That’s one of the reasons I created the
Sustainable Leadership Development Immersion this September in Snowdonia.

Because I don’t believe leadership needs more overload.

I believe leaders need more:
→ self-awareness
→ reflection
→ nervous system regulation
→ meaningful connection
→ space to think differently

In many organisations, that space simply doesn’t exist.

And while self-awareness is often discussed, it’s rarely explored deeply enough to truly understand:
– how we lead at our best
– what derails us under pressure
– and the ripple effect we create as leaders

That’s why this immersion combines:
✔ Hogan Assessment + 1:1 debrief
✔ Group coaching and mBIT coaching
✔ Walking in nature
✔ Yoga, meditation and sound
✔ Guided reflection and journaling
✔ Peer connection and integration

This isn’t wellbeing for wellbeing’s sake.

It’s about helping leaders develop the awareness and regulation needed to lead sustainably and effectively.

Because leadership can feel lonely — especially for women in leadership.

And sometimes what leaders need most… is the space to pause long enough to hear themselves think again.

Most leadership programmes focus on how to lead others.

This focuses on how you lead yourself — consistently and sustainably.

If you’d like to find out more about the immersion, feel free to message me directly.

Komorebi Moments ✨

Ever noticed how hard it can be to support your team on an emotional level?

Sometimes team members are navigating deeply challenging situations outside of work.

You can sense something is affecting their ability to perform at their usual standard…
yet project deadlines are looming, and delivery is at risk.

As human beings, we all experience difficult seasons.

Great leadership is rooted in empathy — recognising when someone may need support, even when the pressure to deliver remains.

It’s also about being self-aware enough to recognise your own triggers, pause judgement, and look at the situation from another perspective.

What space are you creating to lead your team in a more emotionally intelligent way?

Have you noticed how much harder it feels to lead through uncharted territory?

You know the foundations of an effective team matter…
but when everything is shifting, it can be difficult to know what to hold onto and what to let go of.

Strong leadership isn’t about clinging to what once worked.

It’s about staying open -
bringing steady energy,
creating space for new thinking,
and having the courage to lead with clarity, even when all the answers aren’t there yet.

How might you create space for this alongside the day-to-day?

And what does your team need most from you right now?

What actually makes a team effective?

I was fortunate to be invited along to the Corporate Research Forum (CRF) Work Psychology Network event in London yesterday. The research topic was Understanding Teams and Team Effectiveness.

Rob Briner from CRF helped us explore what a team actually is and the variety of teams that exist in the workplace. We reflected on how emotive the term "team" is, and that sense of belonging it offers to people being part of something.

Teams are complex, dynamic and unstable entities and often not enough thought is put into how you form a team, and then create the right conditions to enable team effectiveness....

.. this is without even gong into all of the dynamics at play when teams are full of human beings!

A really insightful and thought-provoking session! Was great to make some new connections as well as bumping into a couple of ex-colleagues from my time at BT when I lived in London.

One of my key reflections was how much of a capacity problem often exists in organisations. Leaders and teams are often under pressure and overloaded with deliverables.

What space are you creating to ensure you are creating the right conditions for team effectiveness?
