🏆 The Mount Haes Trophy has arrived at Delph Sailing Club! ⛵

A very special arrival at Delph Sailing Club this week…

The prestigious Mount Haes Trophy has made its way north following the fantastic win by Sebastian Smith and Lilly Brown at the NSSA Regatta at Downs Sailing Club, Deal, in July 2026. 🏆

Since then, the trophy has been on quite the tour — travelling from Kent → Surrey → Glossop → Pennine and now Delph!

And this is where it will stay until July 2027, proudly residing at Delph Sailing Club.

What a journey, and what an achievement for Sebastian and Lilly! 👏

We’re incredibly proud to see the trophy arrive and look forward to seeing it proudly displayed at Delph over the coming year.

Congratulations again to Sebastian and Lilly — and here’s to another year of sailing, competition and hopefully another NSSA success story! ⛵🏆

The first day of racing at the Team Racing World Championship in Stockholm delivered close racing, challenging tactics and a remarkable logistical operation on the water.

We’re looking for experienced Team Racing Coaches to support our sailors and help us develop our team racing programme.

If you have experience coaching team racing, working with youth sailors and creating fun, competitive training sessions, we’d love to hear from you.

⛵ And that's a wrap for the 2026 NSSA National Regatta! ⛵

What an incredible week for Lancashire Youth Sailing! We couldn't be prouder of our sailors, who represented the county with determination, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the regatta.

A huge congratulations to our sailors on their fantastic results:

It was an almost all-Northern final, with third place going to previous winners William Mawby-Groom & Lily Hosty from Northamptonshire.

These results are a testament to the commitment of our sailors, coaches, parents and volunteers who have supported the team throughout the season.

A heartfelt thank you to Downs Sailing Club and the 250+ volunteers who made this event such a success. With support from clubs all along the south-east coastline, the two years of planning were evident in every aspect of the regatta. It was an exceptionally well-run event, and we are grateful for the warm welcome and unforgettable experience.

Most importantly, we've made new friendships, learnt so much and created memories that will stay with us long after we've packed the boats away.

We'll be back next year with another team, ready to take on the challenge all over again!

Next stop: ⛵ Ripon DH Team Racing in RS Fevas! Team selection is currently underway, and we're looking forward to another fantastic weekend of racing.

⛵ NSSA National Regatta – Day 4 ⛵

What an incredible week it has been for Lancashire Youth Sailing, and after Day 4 we're so proud of every one of our sailors.

Our results so far are a reflection of the hard work, determination and teamwork shown throughout the regatta:

🥈 ILCA 4 – Lochlyn Grant – 2nd
🥈 ILCA 6 – Sebastian Smith – 2nd
⛵ ILCA 6 – Lilly Brown – 6th
🚤 Fast Handicap (RS200) – Molly Haslam & William Taylor – 5th
🚤 Slow Handicap (RS Feva XL) – Annabel Hayfield & Florrie Manock - 3rd

One of the highlights of the week has been the Mount Haes Trophy. Lancashire Youth Sailing are incredibly proud to be taking home this prestigious special event trophy, along with 2nd place overall.

It was also fantastic to see an almost all-Northern final, with:
🥇 Sebastian Smith & Lilly Brown – 1st
🥈 William Taylor & Molly Haslam – 2nd

While we're proud of the results, what has made this regatta truly special are the friendships made, the support between teams and the memories created both on and off the water. The NSSA National Regatta is about so much more than racing, and it's been wonderful to see our sailors representing Lancashire with respect, determination and a smile.

A huge thank you to all of our parents, volunteers, coaches, and supporters who make opportunities like this possible.

We have one more day to go, and we're looking forward to making the most of every moment before heading home. We can't wait to see everyone again at future events.

Sat 11th July, two events were taking place across the NW.

1. NW Junior and Youth Travellers - Winsford Flash
2. ILCA North GP - Pennine Sailing Club

A good turn out from some of the sailors at NWJYT and some great results. Hopefully everyone survived the sun! It was roasting!!

Well done to all the Sailors.

Women in Sailing have received a spot light for a few years and the numbers are rising, however it is still difficult to navigate the professional world of sailing as a woman.
The Magenta Project is raising this profile and forging a pathway for all maritime/ sailing dreams.

Established by the sailors of the successful campaign of Team SCA in the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015, The Magenta Project is a collective of passionate people committed to developing pathways and generating opportunities for more equity and inclusion in sailing, leading with gender.
