Brilliant Weymouth Bandits Basketball Club 👏 Need more of such camps! 💪

Our time in the beautiful USA has sadly come to an end but it what an experience it was! 🇺🇸🏀

Seeing how the best in the world at this sport operate, I go back home inspired, brave and audacious. The attention to simplicity and detail through grit and determination is what we want to bring back to Bournemouth.

For 7 days our U16 & U14 players had a chance to experience NCAA basketball up close. Camp organised by russontop took place at University of Pitt Bradford who hosted us at their amazing facilities. Players were living under an NCAA regime with discipline, hard work and mental strength as the main focus of the camp. Bradford’s Head Coach Daniel Smay delivered some amazing sessions based on simplicity and pure grind.

Our guys learned and improved a variety of skills on and off basketball court. Russ and Underdog Academy managed to seamlessly connect basketball drils with lectures about networking, adversity and scouting. And in the mid of all that we managed to explore Bradford and even get a cheeky hike in 🏔️ Thanks Russ for a very well organised camp.

Having a direct pathway to NCAA basketball for us is a milestone that we will not walk away from. Like coaches Russ and Dan say - ‘let’s cook’ 🧑‍🍳

It’s an incredible experience for the boys and our club. We are blessed to be able to experience highest level basketball. From facilities to coaching, it’s all been an unbelievable experience.

Day 2 🇺🇸

🔥 Facility Upgrades 🔥

Inspired by basketball facilities in countries we’ve visited for camps like Lithuania, Spain and the USA, we’ve long dreamed of creating the ultimate basketball “shrine” – where the court and gym are seamlessly connected.

Today, we’re incredibly proud to announce that we’ve made that dream a reality by building our very own gym inside the same building as the court!

Now our players can take their game to the next level by becoming physically stronger. With individual training programmes, young athletes can train alongside our senior players, learning from their experience and creating the ultimate basketball environment.

While Coach Tomas Skiotys is in the USA with Underdog Academy , coaches Adomas Stakvilevicius and Ciprian Ignat have been working tirelessly to put the finishing touches on our new gym. 💪🇺🇸🇬🇧 Teamwork makes the dream work!

A huge thank you to St Peter’s School for trusting the process and supporting us in achieving this dream. We look forward to strengthening this partnership for many years to come, with this gym standing as a symbol of our community and shared passion for basketball.
