Fairy's fairytale ending wasn't to be.....
A valiant effort from our fairies went in vain as Lansdowne made sure that they weren't trophy-less for the season.
On a beautiful night at Long Lane our fairies never gave up - a tight first half, the lads were unfortunate to go behind at the cusp of half time - a second from Lansdowne with 20 minutes to go made things all that much harder in spite of an onslaught in the second half as the fairies gave up on their defensive game plan and hit the bar as well as forcing some lucky saves from the Lansdowne keeper....
A great season has come to an end, some SWCFL careers have come to an end - we regroup and reconfigure for next year.
Just keep believing in miracles - and see what scandals follow our favourite underdogs over the summer as we see some potential debutants in for the charity 6 a side coming on the 23rd.....
XOXO

Garfield’s boys dare to dream….
It’s a mild Wednesday afternoon on the upper fernside - whispers can be heard though - is it possible? Can it really happen? The fairies won the league - the hardest to win due to the consistency required - yet murmurs abound about a potential double.
The day’s upon us - Lansdowne once again waiting in the wings - this time at Ringwood Town - a win for our fairies would be seen as miraculous as they compete in their first top tier final - Lansdowne having had generations of players compete in these.
But sometimes sport throws up these miracles - heroes are immortalised, villains lambasted for time…
Find out tonight what happens for St Mary's Longfleet FC vs LANSDOWNE
There should be a livestream for those that can’t make it - but for those that do - know that for several of your heroes this is a last hurrah so your support will be well appreciated…

Hello Upper Fernsiders....
The fairies march on!
Hello Believers, can it be.... Is there a chance that your favourite Fairies do an historic double?
It's official - The Fairies have qualified for the league cup final - standing in their way - and for the 6th time this season - the much decorated Lansdowne - Scorned from defeat in league - Lansdowne went full strength in the dead rubber game on Saturday as the greens beat our Fairies for the 4th time this season running out 3-0 winners.
Winning the double would be an underdog story of the ages - think Mighty Ducks beating Iceland, Rocky vs Apollo Creed, Danny LaRusso vs the Cobra Kai….
On a roasting hot day, the Fairies welcomed back Tom Beaumont in what could be one of his last SWCFL games. Speaking of which, assistant manager and former captain Sam 'Chowie" Simcox made his final start in the fairy blue as father time (and a mountain of injuries) catches up.
Bad news on Fairy watch with Daz, Chowie and Cav all picking up injuries in the innocuous game giving manager Huggz even more to consider coming into the final.
With a warm up game Saturday - our fairies are in full focus for the final to be held at Ringwood Town on April 29th under the floodlights - can the magic happen just one more time?
XOXO

FROM UNDESIRABLE TO UNDENIABLE 🏆
Underrated, overlooked, mocked and maligned - a club that have never had a seat at the big boys table, never won the main event, a place where former champions go to die…. Balls to David and Goliath - this was a far greater mismatch - the fairies weren’t even in peoples top 5 to win the league at the start of the year - but here we are - perseverance, relentless desire and a camaraderie that won through all hardships - your Fairies have undertaken their biggest ever achievement - their first Division 1 league title - the best Church team in the land (if that land is BCP..).
St Mary’s of Longfleet take a bow - fairies are real - dreams do come true - and we all know our friend Steve Taylor was looking down and cheering us on. The lads needed a point - miracle save by Jimmy - a constant pressure absorbed from Coastline - 0-0 was enough - and yeah the boys got smashed next week by Lansdowne (thanks Shaun Gomm) - but all those who donned the blue and black of the our oft beaten down fairies achieved immortality with that coastline result - captain Jordan Byfield who never stopped believing, manager Rhys Huggett who suffered child birth that morning and still made the latter stages of the game to help the fairies over the line.
We did it - 🧚 🧚♀️ 🧚♂️
