We are looking to recruit some fresh blood in to our squad this year. Playing in division 2 of the Bracknell Sunday league.

Warfield United Football Club
A football club organised by friends since 2008.
2012 Div 2 CHAMPIONS ⭐️ A football club set up by friends and has been going since 2008.
We are a well run club with a good history and a team who play football the right way. Managed and run by Alex Mellor and James Tickner.
Some sad news about former player, captain & all time top goals scorer Ritchie Cohen this morning. Wishing Ricco a speedy recovery💪🏽
Waking to the news this morning that club target man suffered a broken leg in a practice match yesterday afternoon.
Rico has made a massive impression on the club since his move in the summer from Warfield United and has already captained the side on a number of occasions. He has been on fire so far this season scoring 19 in the league in 14 games. He has formed a formidable partnership with over the last 2.5 seasons & has probably assisted to over half of Neil’s 28 league goals he has scored this season. Rico now becomes the 2nd of our main creative players we have lost in the space of a month so he will be a big miss for the team as we look to close in on the top of the table and attempt to progress in the Aldershot Cup. We all wish Rico a speedy recovery and hope to still have him down for some games in a more tactical position from the touch line💪🏽
Merry Christmas to everyone involved with the club and that has been supporting and following our progress. Hope everyone has a great few days stuffing their faces. The lads can’t wait to get back to action and start running off all those mince pies🎄
Congratulations Bobby & Liz
🎊Congratulations🎊
Yesterday Braybrookes midfield playmaker Bobby Charlton and his fiancé Liz tied the knot. Everyone at the club hope the happy couple had a wonderful day and look forward to welcoming the new man back to the club after their honeymoon..... if he’s aloud.
It’s been a long summer in the Warfield camp and some big decisions had to be made.
After a successful campaign last season finishing runners up in Div2, going unbeaten in 2017, a quarter final and a semi final cup run we as a club was left with the the dilemma if we could, 1) get a full squad together and, 2) be competitive in Div1 with the team we could field. With the manager, captain and other core member all choosing to hang up their boots and retire from the game we came to the hard decision to look at other option as it would be a difficult task and probably not that enjoyable to carry on as we were.
With some selfless work by club sec JimmyT there were a few option on the table. As quite a few of the players wanting to carry on playing together Braybrooke Athletic manager ForestJ invited us all down to try out for his club.
Braybrooke did not have the best of seasons last year finishing 10th in Div2 but the manager has done some great work in bringing in new talent all over for the new campaign and the club is proven to have a strong stable foundation with a good history.
A sad day having to make the decision to fold Warfield Utd after 10 years together as a club but 9 Warfield players have made the move together to Braybrooke for the 2018/19 campaign and JimmyT has taken on a club sec roll also to release some pressure from ForrestJ. It’s a new exciting challenge for us all and we hope we can transfer some of that Warfield spirt and have a successful season with the team.
We hope as many of you as possible that have supported us and followed this page will follow the Braybrooke pages and get behind the team this season.
One last time
Warfield United 2-3 Berks County

MOTM = Cohen⭐️
Going into our last game of the campaign we knew a win would put us back top of Division 2 by a point and firmly put the pressure on Woodley going into their last game this coming Sunday.
The team was dealt a blow before before kick off with last games man of the match Higgsy having to withdraw from the squad. We still had a strong 15 for this evening game. The best turn out for all the midweek games we have had to play. We started the game fantastically and JamesT was causing Berks all sorts of problems playing in an unfamiliar No10 roll. We had chances to take the lead but against the run of play Berks scored after we gave the ball away cheaply at the back and were left out numbered where they put the ball away at the back post. We kept the pressure on and quickly got a goal back as Blewitt broke into the box and poked the ball home. From there we thought we had done enough to build on the good play so far. Unfortunately before the brake a missed header from a long ball upfield allowed the Berks striker some rare space and with Butler up on the edge of his area the ball was lifted over him. 1-2 half time.
Second half and we were back at it put the pressure on from the start. We knew we needed two goals. Unfortunately this meant we was chasing and the gaps began to show. Again against the run of play Berk nicked a goal on the counter and we knew the game was done as we now needed 3 for the win. Everybody could be forgiven for the drop in pace after that, so many games been played over the past few weeks the legs were tired and heavy. We did however grab a late conciliation goal as Cohen shrugged of six challenges from their central midfielder and struck one from about 25 yards out to which the keeper completely miss judged the swerve on the ball and threw it in his own net.
A disappointing end with no win in our last three matches but what a season with so many achievements. Second place in the league, cup semi final, cup quarter final, unbeaten in 2017, the last unbeaten team in all of the Bracknell and Wokingham leagues. Everybody should feel incredible proud.
Squad announced for the final game of the campaign. Strong turn out tonight so it’s going to be a tough last managerial evening for Mellor. It’s going to be an emotional evening with some core members of the squad moving on after this evening. Would of been nice to have the season wrapped up and made it more of a testimonial for them lads but the result matters and Warfield want revenge for last weeks result👊🏽
As we prepare to take the field for the final game of the 2017/2018 season we can take a look back at the weekends fixtures and see what a massive opportunity missed our own game was. Athletico Ascot took a hammering at the hands of tonight’s opponents Berks County. With only five games left in the league all will be decided by this coming Sunday.
We win tonight and we are guaranteed second place. That will also firmly put the pressure on Woodley who will need to win their final fixture against 3M on Sunday, a draw will not be good enough for them and in the unlikely event that it happens we Warfield will be crowned champions. 3M’s stats are not good though with no win in their last 8 but if we do the job tonight and give them some support on Sunday........who knows what can happen.
Been a fantastic season none the less. One last push to take it down to the wire⚽️
Lived it. loved It. thank You
Last game of the season and we go in to it knowing the league title is out of our hands and it’s likely destination is Woodley.
After what was a fantastic 2017, Unbeaten and through to the semi finals, winter then hit us.
I’d like to think had we had a full strength squad we would be in the finals & if we hadn’t had to play so many games without proper recovery/rest we would be champions by now.
But sadly it is what it is.
Last game is V’s Berks County, we are looking forward to this as the boys owe them one and we can go top one last time and hope 3M come up with a miracle. Football always comes up with something now and again
Also we say to say good bye to a few faces Weekes and Paul have had a short time at United but have made a big Impact, Paul maybe being top goal scorer and Weekes has been a beast for us in the last 4 years or so.
Also it’s good bye to two long serving players who I’ve had the pleasure to play with and had a good laugh with during my time, Leon & Jk have been a constant at the club, always reliable and a constant for me this season.
The club will be a sadder place without them.
Thanks for everything boys.
Finally it’s good bye from me, I’ve been at the club since 2008, 10 years.
I’ve played 8 1/2 years Manger 3 years and been club Secretary for over 6 years.
Won a Title and played in a final.
I’ve made great friends through football and made even better memories.
Seen boys get married and have there own little family’s something we could of only dreamed of when my self and Eddie first spoke about creating a club with close friends.
I’ve loved every minute of my time here and it’s been great fun, I wish I had won more as a player, and wish I had got this group of boys to a final or Title as I feel they deserve it and couldn’t ask for a better group of lads.
I hope this club continues and jimmy can bring in a younger group of players and I can see the club grow and go on to achieve better things.
Thanks Boys

Warfield 2-2 Woodley
Blewitt⚽️
Charlton⚽️
MOTM = Higgs⭐️
We can feel extremely hard done by with a draw today but every single person who was involved should also feel incredibly proud of the effort and the quality of football that was played. The match was play at such a high intensity from the first whistle a vast contrast from the past couple of games. There was so many chances to take the lead but Woodley struck first with their first opportunity, a corner was met by an unmarked Woodley head with the near post being unmanned the ball crept in. We struck back quickly through some good play and a brake through and well taken goal slotted in by Blewitt. Woodley got their second soon after with their next meaningful attack. A free kick on the edge of the area was miss-crossed in the box which deceived Butler slipper straight through his hands. That’s how we went into the brake and everyone was very positive but could not workout how that had just happened. Second half was much the same apart from a couple of half chances Woodley were penned back. We pulled back level with a great ball across the box and Charlton calmly knocked it in from yards out. We thought we had done enough to win the game but with minutes left had the hard decision to sacrifice some players and go five up top. Almost a genius decision as Higgsy had two clean strikes tipped wide in the dying moments. That’s how the game finished and after such a great team performance the result all but hands Woodley the league title unless by some miracle they don’t get a result against 3M next Sunday.
Man of the match award went to Higgsy today who controlled everything that went on through the midfield, defended and linked up well with the front men. It could of quiet easily gone to a number of players though as Cohen, Blewitt, Barber Jk and Streak when he came on all had some of the best performance they have had in a while. All the wingers also did a job and ran themselves into the ground unselfishly.
Season is not over though and we still have to finish the season strong. Our last game is on Tuesday evening and we need to turn up and show Berks what we are made of and put the pressure on Woodley final game on Sunday⚽️
It has been confirmed that Manager Alex Mellor has been struck down with a crippling virus so is unable to attend today’s must win match. Stepping in is club VC Scott Higgs who has been sidelined for the last two weeks with a ankle injury. Mellor has left clear instruction on what he expects today which Bhiggsy will undoubtedly pay no attention to😉
Big game today down at locks ride. Top of the table clash with Woodley. Both with two games remaining and after our Thursday evening loss we sit two points behind. Not hard to do the maths. A loss today at home and we hand the league to Woodley which no one wants to let happen. Good solid squad today. Probably one of the strongest ones in all areas we have had in a few weeks so we have the tools to turn it on today.
Let’s leave it all out on the pitch and take the fight to the final game of the season on Tuesday evening⚽️
Thursday 26th April.
Berks County 3 - 1 Warfield United
King⚽️
Warfields second loss of the season was a hard one to watch, especially the first half. Late arrivals to this Thursday evening game due to heavy traffic in Wokingham didn’t allow us to start with the team that we would of liked to. For the first time in the league we was forced to start the game with a back four and we never really got going. We won’t say to much about Bully’s goal line miss but the first half ended 2-0 and Berks deserved it. Disappointingly though both goals were conceded by long thowins into the box. We knew we need to do better.
Second half we made the changes and went to out preferred back three. We quickly got back into the game with a well taken goal from King after some hard work by Cohen. After that we kept on the pressure and pushed everyone forward. We had a point blank strike kept out and Berks got the ball forward for a quick and nicked a goal on the counter and that’s how the game ended.
That’s three games in a row now we have started slow and had to work hard to get back into the game. With that loss we drop from first to third but with two games remaining we know it’s still in our own hands. Woodley Sunday then return match against Berks. Last big push⚽️
Ashridge Park 1 - 3 Warfield United
Cohen⚽️⚽️
Blewitt⚽️
MOTM = Cohen⭐️
This was always going to be a tough game. Ashridge are not a bad outfit with a couple of good technical players in their team. That mixed with the amount of games already played and the earlier start time meant we struggled to get everybody there for kick off. We really struggled straight from the off and the gaps just seemed to keep opening up for Ashridge to take advantage of. Ashridge took the lead after about 15 and they fully deserved it. Mellor took things into his own hand and completely shuffled around the team with Blewitt, King and Streak coming on and all making a massive difference to the way the team play. Mcgarry dropped back into defence and Higgsy from the No10 to a deeper roll aloud them both to start getting on the ball and dictate the game. Cohen with a great strike pulled us level for the brake which was a fair reflection on how that half was played.
Second half was all Warfield and we were back to spending the ball around like we know we have to to beat teams in our league. Mcgarry with a perfect through ball for Blewitt’s goal (that’s 3 in 2 now) and Blewitt winner another penalty which Cohen cooley place in the corner (same combo as Sunday & also Cohen 3 in 2).
All in all a good game with a slow start I think sums up this Tuesday evening performance. 3 more point on the board and another game down. Some good performances from Streak, Blewitt and Cohen helped turn this game and also Barber doing the dirty work and breaking the play up.
Woodley managed to get a impressive 4-2 win over Crowthorne as well so we are as we were. Onto Thursday now and it’s Berks County away. We can’t afford to give the anything in this game as we have a home replay against them five days later which is the final game of the season.
2 games down, 6 points in the bag 💼
First off was last Thursday V Bracknell Athletics. We started fantastic with Moe on the wing really setting the tempo pressing them high and playing some nice football out wide. He even got kicked into row Z after the full back had enough of him embarrassing him in front of his pals!!!!!
Neil scored 2 really good goals and had a great game. Paul got the other goal and on another night could (should) of had three!!
Second half was hard. The boys tired and was a case of defending what we had. Luckily we defended really well and got a thourghly deserved 3 points.
Really well done to the boys. The only bad news was I lost Scott Higgs (VC), Scott has been integral to our title push and I’m gutted for him. Fingers crossed we can get him out for the final game of the season that’s what we are aiming for🤞🏽
Second game was Sunday against Crowthrone and within minutes of KO we found ourselves 1-0 up. Great start but after 20 mins we lost our rhythm. We didn’t play well all game, passing was poor and we couldnt get out of our half. Second half we finally conceded and it was backs against the ropes. Weekes who had a really good game gave away a penalty with a tired tackle only for them to shank it wide and we were let off the hook. A few minutes later another peno but this one was a dubious decision. Once again though Crowthrone fluffed their lines and missed another handed opportunity to take the lead. Minutes remaining and in a rare attack we got a penalty ourselves and Cohen smashed it home. United took all three points and putting us back on top of the table.
Did we deserve to win NO!, do we care HELL NO!!!!!!
It’s all about points at this time of the year and 4 more games like that will be hard to watch but I’m taking that all day.
Boys can and will play better, I’m sure of it.
On to the next couple this week, Ashridge and Berks County, 2 good games lined up and hopefully I can write another report with 6 points at the end.
Hopefully I’ll see a few faces down Cantley Park this week, support is very welcome 🙏🏼

Warfield United back on top of the world⚽️
After last Sunday’s disappointment of not being able to get something out of the game against Woodley after a good second half performance we all knew this was going to be a big week for the club. With Woodley not having any fixtures scheduled last week this was when we got to play our games in hand.
On Thursday evening we put out a professional performance with a scratch team against Bracknell Athletic. Walsh, Streak, Singer, Durbridge and JackT all stepped back in and put in solid shifts which saw Walsh receiving the MOTM award. Athletic did have a good start to the second half and our defence weathered the storm well but 3-1 was not a fair representation of the game. Blewitt with 2 and King with 1 but if we fired on all cylinders the score line would of been more than doubled. The game finished in unsavoury fashion with the ref not getting hold of things and allowed a number of late challenges go. A double challenge on Bhiggs saw the midfield being carried off on the final whistle and looks set to miss the remaining games of the season. Overall a great result though on a hot and sticky week night. This drew us a point behind Woodley going into the weekend.
Sunday was another big one up against other title contenders Crowthorne and our third game of the week. We started well and put the pressure on Crowthorne right away. We were rewarded with a typical captains goal by JK after a great ball into the box. A couple more chances were created but after about 20-30 minutes things took a turn and Crowthorne showed up. The rest of the half was all them and the second half was no different. We invited on the pressure and you could see the energy had gone. We had a great shout for a penalty disallowed when Blewitt was cleared out by their keeper but we were kept to that. Some great defending again by the whole team sitting in but with about half an hour left the inevitable happened and Crowthorne drew level. They were on the up then and soon after were rewarded a penalty which their striker kindly put wide. Moments later Crowthorne were rewarded a second penalty and with a different taker this time he smashed it against the post and we managed to scramble it clear. We were restricted to counters and Blewitt causing all sorts of trouble won us a penalty which Cohen with a cool head rifled in putting us 2-1 up. Crowthorne carried on going for it but this is how the game finished much to their annoyance.
Top by 1 lads and back where we belong so all in all a good week. Now the hard part starts..... staying there. 4 games left to play. Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday....4 in one week is going to be a big test but that’s the same for Woodley. Last big push yellow⚽️
*************Managers Corner*************
Midweek fun begins
Sunday we experienced our first loss in the league away to title rivals Woodley. From my view the game was split into sections. First 20-25 mins I felt we were on the back foot from the start, Woodley without really threatening did cause us all sorts of issues when attacking from midfield areas and we gave to many cheap free kicks away. One resulting in a goal (own goal) but we responded well. The first 25 though might just be the worse I’ve seen us play this season.
Second half was scrappy but we probably did enough to grab a point and maybe even the win. Unfortunately it didn’t happen and it’s now advantage Woodley. We have games in hand but they are real tough fixtures and We will need a lot more fight than I witness Sunday.
I felt some players let themselves down Sunday and weren’t up for the battle but on reflection we haven’t played for a while so I will give them the benefit of the doubt as they deserve it for there hard work so far. Defence really impressed me. Leon, Jk, Weekes & JimmyT did the club proud, an excellent defensive display lads.
Tomorrow we play Bracknell Athletic. Not a easy fixture, I quiet like them, a proper Sunday league team who play good football and battle till the end. Centre midfield is there strong point with a couple of real good players in there.
We have a good strong squad for tomorrow. Six games to go and we are running out of fixtures. This is now a must win game, pressure is on us but that’s what it’s all about. I’ve been there in 2012 and we didn’t win all those games with pretty football. We had to dig deep, battle through matches and that’s exactly what we have to do now.
Mel👑
Get down to ringmead tomorrow evening to support the lads
So after this weekends dry spell Division 2 got to play a full round of fixtures for the first time in months. A couple of shock results drop us to third which is our lowest place all season but we do have a lot of games to catch up on.
Newbold has had a mixed week after last Sunday taking a thumping at the hands of Crowthorne 9-1 only to beat them at home 2-1 on Thursday night and all but take them out of the running for top spot. In their second twist three days later go and do a Man United and drop valuable points away to bottom club Braybrooke. This could be a lesson to us with the compact fixture list coming up and show that every game matters and the whole squad need to pull together to get what we have set out to achieve⚽️
Can we at the club ask everybody to take a moment out of there morning to say a little prayer for Warfield winger Aarron Bell who in yesterday’s match against Woodley took a little tumble onto an opponents knee minutes after being substituted on and has sustained life threatening injuries to his ribs.
We all wish Aaron a speedy recovery and hope he will be able to pull on the Warfield shirt again this season.
Aaron is now fighting it out with club veteran, ginger winger Jack Tickner for shortest appearance of the season which Jack has confirmed he is not happy about🙏🏽
Woodley United 1 - 0 Warfield United
The unbeaten run in the league comes to an end🏁
So after five long weeks of postpond fixtures we finally got to put boots to grass again and not a moment to soon. This was only the teams fourth league game of 2018 and with only three weeks left till the end of the season and six games left to play this is going to be a busy few weeks for the club.
We stared today’s match very sluggish (anyone would think we had some recent to time off) and Woodley came at us fast. The play was scrappy from both teams and the ball spent most of the first 20 minutes off of the pitch. A soft early yellow set the tone of the game and whilst trying to find ourselves a few needless free kicks were given away in and around our own penalty box. Warfield did have the first meaningful shot on target though as Woodleys Christmas socks kindly pointed out to everyone but one of those cheaply given free kicks resulted in the only goal of the game. On about 25 minutes a very poorly struck freekick which may of been heading for the corner flag took deflection off a Warfield player and completely caught keeper Scottey cold which trickled in past him at the near post. After that we did begin to pick up the pace hitting the frame and JamesT saw his header hit the inside of the Woodley post come straight back across the line into their keepers hands. Unfortunately for the team midway through the first half winger Aaron Bell during a tackle took a knee to the ribs which saw him having to go to hospital and was diagnosed with hair line cracks to his ribs. We wish Aaron a speedy recovery as his introduction sparked our resurgence with a couple of good runs.
Second half and it was a completely different story. We came out ready for the fight. Winning all of our individual battles and playing much better football as a team. A good tactical change half way through the second half allowed us to increase the pressure we again hit the frame through king, had a couple of headed shots saved and Blewitt had a great chance incredible kept out by the keeper. We just didn’t find the back of the net and at the final whistle we all could see what it meant to the Woodley lads who celebrated like the league was already theirs.
This now leaves us five points behind Woodley with two games in hand on them but who we play again in our second to last game. Makes it very interesting at the top in what I think we can now call a two horse race after Crowthornes shock double defeat this last week at the hands Newbold and Athletico respectively.
Not the result we would of wanted today but a lot of positives to take from the second half and also the morale amongst the players after the final whistle.
The league title is still solely in our own hands and we just have to come together and play like we deserve it. Roll on Thursday, away to 6th place Bracknell Athletic who in October we beat 4-1⚽️
