Confidence…

Not:
✨ feeling amazing
✨ nailing everything
✨ floating round like a dressage goddess

More like:
“Right… let’s just get on and see what happens.”

This is something I see all the time… and it’s rarely talked about.

It’s not just the comment in the moment.

It’s what happens after.

The second guessing.
The hesitation.
The voice that suddenly isn’t quite your own anymore.

If you’ve ever ridden away feeling more unsure than when you got on…

You’re not alone.

And it’s not a reflection of your ability.

💬 Has this ever followed you into your next ride?

Confidence in riding rarely disappears all at once.

More often it fades through a thinking spiral that quietly builds during a ride.

It often begins with something completely normal:

a tense step, a messy transition, a small spook, or simply the feeling that someone is watching.

Then the interpretation starts.

“I’m letting my horse down.”
“People can see I’m struggling.”

From there the pressure increases.
We try harder.
We tense up.

The horse feels it… and the situation can escalate.

Many riders assume this means they’re not good enough.

In reality, it’s simply a very human thinking pattern.

Recognising the spiral is often the first step towards interrupting it and returning attention to the horse in front of you.

Most riders experience this at some point — you’re certainly not the only one.

Which stage of the spiral do you recognise most?

“Heels down, eyes up, shoulders back, core tight, soft hands…
just act natural.” 😅

Riding sometimes feels like trying to remember six things at once while sitting on a thousand kilos with opinions.

Tell me honestly… which instruction lives in your head the most when you ride?

Heels down
Eyes up
Hands steady
Something else entirely

If you’ve been reading along this week and quietly thinking,

“Maybe this is me…”

This is your sign to stop overthinking it.

Clarity Calls are simply a 30-minute conversation about what’s actually going on in your riding.

No pressure.
No performance.
No hard sell.

Just space to talk it through properly.

If you’d like to book one, the link is in my bio.

Or message me if you’d rather ask a question first.

That little voice in your head isn’t the enemy.

But it might not be your friend either.

Most riders try to silence it.
Or fight it.
Or ignore it.

What we actually need to do is understand it.

Because once you understand the voice,
you stop being controlled by it.

Confidence doesn’t come from pushing harder.

It comes from clarity.

If that resonates, send me a message.

When you ride…
is the voice in your head actually helpful?

Or does it say things like:

• “Don’t mess this up.”
• “That wasn’t good enough.”
• “You should be better than this by now.”

Most riders think confidence is about being braver.

It isn’t.

It’s about changing the relationship you have with that voice.

If your confidence comes and goes and you’re not sure why, this is usually where we need to look.

I’ve opened a few Clarity Call spaces this month.

No pressure. Just a proper conversation.

Comment “Clarity” or send me a message if you’d like to talk.

We laugh… but there’s truth in this.

The more certain you feel,
the more certain your horse becomes.

Confidence isn’t noise.
It’s clarity.

What gives you that feeling of certainty in the saddle?

Happy 🐴

I’ve started welcoming riders into GlowUp.

Behind the scenes, it’s all being built properly — structure, support, and steady accountability.

GlowUp isn’t about pushing harder.

It’s about quietening the mental noise that creeps into your riding and building confidence in a way that actually lasts.

I’m keeping this intake small so everyone receives proper support.

If you’ve been thinking about mindset work but weren’t sure where to start, this might be it.

Message me “GlowUp” if you’d like to talk.
