What would it feel like to have a little more space in your mind?
Not because you've finally got everything organised.
Not because you've ticked everything off your to-do list.
But because you've had the chance to pause long enough to hear yourself think.
That's what 'When Your Brain Won't Switch Off' is about.
A gentle, creative workshop for busy minds that need a little breathing room.
No artistic experience required.
No pressure to share.
No expectation to have everything figured out.
Just space to slow down, reflect, and explore what's underneath all the noise.

I created the 'When Your Brain Won't Switch Off' workshop because I've spent years working with people whose brains never seem to get a moment's peace.
They aren't doing anything wrong, and they equally do not need another planner, app, system, or productivity hack.
They're just carrying so much in their heads that it's become difficult to hear themselves think, and that's where things start to get stuck.
Because when everything is swirling around inside your head, it's hard to know what actually needs your attention, what's ready to be let go of, and what matters most.
This workshop offers something many busy brains don't get enough of:
Space.
Space to pause.
Space to reflect.
Space to untangle what's been circling around in your mind.
You don't need any artistic experience, just a willingness to slow down for a little while and get curious about what's underneath all the noise.
Join us on Thursday 18 June, 7 - 8:30pm (UK) online if you want to explore this together.
If you're longing for a bit more headspace, I'd love to welcome you.

It's my birthday today, and I've been reflecting on something that I think about every now and then, but today I heard something on the news that brought it to the surface again.
They were talking about the possibility of bringing self-driving cars to the UK.
When I was a kid, things like self-driving cars, biometric security scans, drones and artificial intelligence belonged in science fiction films. They weren't real life.
Yet here we are. These things have become part of the world now, and some of them are actually part of my own day to day life. For example:
- There’s a drone that is used to report local incidents on Facebook.
- I unlock my phone and apps with my fingerprint without even thinking about it.
- I can ask AI a question and get an answer in seconds.
The older I get, the more I notice how many things that once felt futuristic have become part of everyday life. Technology seems to be advancing faster than I think anyone can keep up with, and I find it really strange when I stop and think about how much has changed in my lifetime.
But as I sit here reflecting on another birthday, I'm reminded that some things haven't changed at all. No matter how advanced technology becomes, human connection still matters most.
Relationships, conversations, shared experiences, laughter, support, and feeling understood by other people. Those are the things that bring meaning, joy, and a sense of belonging.
The technology is incredible, but it's the people in our lives who really matter.

One thing I've noticed in both my own life and the people I work with:
When we say we're "stuck", we're often describing stress.
And stress changes the way we think.
It narrows our focus.
Makes decisions feel harder.
Turns simple problems into impossible ones.
So, when you're overwhelmed, the answer usually isn't to push harder.
It's to create enough space for your nervous system to settle.
That's where the idea of Creative Resets came from.
I wanted something simple that could help interrupt that cycle of overthinking and overwhelm before it spiralled further.
Inside my Creative Resets Guide, you'll find easy creative exercises that help you shift gears, slow down, and reconnect with clearer thinking.
No artistic ability required.
No special equipment.
Just a pen, a few quiet minutes, and permission to pause.
💭 Have you ever noticed the difference between being stuck and being stressed?

One of the things I love most about cats is that they remind us to slow down.
They don't rush.
They don't worry about being productive every minute of the day.
They stretch.
They nap.
They find sunny spots.
They ask for attention when they need it.
And somehow they seem completely unapologetic about all of it.
When life feels busy, stressful, or overwhelming, spending a few minutes with a cat can be a beautiful reset.
The gentle rhythm of their purring.
The comfort of their presence.
The simple act of stopping what you're doing long enough to stroke a furry friend.
It's no wonder that many people find their pets help reduce stress, lift their mood, and bring a sense of calm during difficult times.
So today, on National Hug Your Cat Day, I'm grateful for the reminders our feline companions give us every day:
Pause more.
Rest when you need to.
Seek out comfort.
And don't underestimate the power of a quiet moment.
🐾 If you share your life with a cat, I'd love to see them.

Ever find yourself going round in circles, unable to think clearly, no matter how hard you try?
When we're stuck or overwhelmed, the instinct is almost always to push through. But the more we push, the harder it becomes to think clearly - and we can end up more frustrated and stuck than when we started.
What actually helps is doing something that gently steps you away from the thinking, even just for a few minutes.
That's exactly what Creative Resets is for. It's a free guide packed with simple activities using drawing, mark-making, and colour to help you pause, reset, and refocus - right where you are, with whatever you have to hand.
No artistic skill needed. Nothing to get right. Just a pen and a few minutes.
