Week 1 wasn't perfect, but it was progress.
I probably returned to football a little too early after my ankle injury, but I also got myself back into the gym and moving consistently again with a clear plan. For now, that means focusing on upper body strength while using my leg sessions for rehabilitation and recovery.
I also celebrated my birthday this week. I went go-karting (the ankle just about survived!) and enjoyed some great food with family and friends.
Has my nutrition been perfect? Not at all.
But it has been far more balanced than it was on holiday, and that's what matters. I'm not interested in extremes. I'm interested in building habits that I can actually maintain.
I'll always be a PT who enjoys good food. Life is there to be enjoyed. The difference is that I try to balance those moments with foods that give me energy, support recovery, and help rebuild muscleβthings like eggs, quality protein, fruit, and whole foods.
Fitness isn't about perfection.
It's about consistently making more good choices than bad ones and getting back on track when life happens.

I could have posted the holiday photos.
Instead, I'm posting this.
A little bloated.
A few pounds heavier.
A week of enjoying food, drinks, relaxation and making memories.
And honestly?
I'm completely okay with it.
One of the biggest lies in the fitness industry is that coaches should always look "on plan" 365 days a year.
Real life doesn't work like that.
I went on holiday.
I enjoyed myself.
Now I'm back.
No detox teas.
No punishment workouts.
No guilt.
Just a return to the habits that I know work.
Over the next 8 weeks I'm going to document the journey right here on this page.
The good days.
The difficult days.
The workouts.
The nutrition.
The progress.
Not because I'm trying to become perfect.
Because I want to show that fitness isn't about never falling off track.
It's about knowing how to get back on.
If you've been struggling after a holiday, a stressful period, or life simply getting in the way, follow along. I get it and I want you to understand it's ok.
Let's prove that consistency beats perfection every single time.

Most people think strength training is about looking better.
It isn't.
It's about being able to get up off the floor when you're 70.
It's about carrying your own shopping.
Playing with your grandchildren.
Walking upstairs without pain.
Living independently for as long as possible.
The reality is that after the age of 30, we naturally begin to lose muscle mass unless we actively do something about it.
That doesn't mean you need to become a bodybuilder.
It means giving your body a reason to stay strong.
The strongest people I work with aren't chasing six-packs.
