🌟 U15's Division Finals

B15 Cup Final: Bridgend Knights Squires B15 (2) – (1) Young Guns B15

A thrilling, tightly contested final that saw the Squires edge out a fantastic Young Guns side to claim the championship.

X15 Final: Loughor X15 (5) – (3) Can't Touch This X15

An absolute try fest with Loughor taking home the win in an exciting high scoring encounter.

🌟 U12's Division Finals

12's Cup Final: Mini Guns B12 (6) – (2) Squires B12

The Mini Guns put on a stellar performance in the final to take the cup trophy, capping off a great tournament run for both sides.

U12's Plate Final: Saxons 1 B12 (4) – (1) Mini Maidens G12

England South West Saxons 1 showed fantastic determination to secure the plate victory against a spirited Mini Maidens team.

It's set to be a Great day of Touch rugby for our younger generation!

We are looking forward to welcoming some of the best Junior teams from across Wales and England this month who will be taking part in the South Wales Cup!

The South Wales Cup 🏆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Aimed at players between 10-15yrs of age.

The South Wales Touch Cup will take place at Brynteg School on August 22nd.

It's a fantastic event that sees touch rugby clubs from across Wales and England come together to play on a competitive tournament to end the summer holidays before the children go back to school.

The 2026 European Youth Touch Championships in Coventry have come to a close, and Team Cymru heads home with two silver medals and three bronze medals—an incredible showcase of the talent, work rate, and bright future of Welsh Touch.

From players pulling on the Welsh jersey to earn their very first junior caps to dramatic podium finishes, every player, coach, referee, team manager, physio, and supporter played their part in making this an unforgettable campaign.

This weekend showcased everything that makes Wales Touch special—resilience, skill, outstanding teamwork, and immense pride. With five of our six squads stepping onto the European podium and a fantastic 4th-place finish from our development Dragons side, the depth and growth across our youth pathway has never been stronger.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated coaches, team managers, referees, physios, volunteers, and the brilliant traveling army of parents, families, and supporters on the sidelines. Your tireless commitment and energy behind the scenes made this tournament possible.

Finally, to every young player who wore the dragon this weekend—thank you. You represented Wales with passion, discipline, and heart, and the entire Wales Touch community is immensely proud of what you have achieved.

🥈 EUROPEAN SILVER MEDALLISTS! 🥈

A huge congratulations to Wales Men’s 35’s, who have finished as European Championship silver medallists at the 2026 European Touch Championships in Vichy! 🇫🇷🏉

The final against England was a true spectacle and had everyone on the edge of their seats. With just a minute remaining, Team Cymru trailed by the narrowest of margins at 7–6, setting up a nail-biting finish. Despite a valiant final push, England scored late to secure an 8–6 victory.

The result doesn’t tell the full story. This was a fiercely contested final between two outstanding teams, with our Men’s 35’s showing incredible skill, resilience and determination from the opening whistle to the last.

To reach a European final and return home with silver medals is a fantastic achievement and one that every player, coach and member of the support team should be immensely proud of.

Congratulations, Men’s 35’s you’ve represented Team Cymru with pride and passion. Enjoy your well earned silver medals! 🥈

European Touch Championships

A special mention needs to be said for The Sheild Maidens head Coach Mr Mark David. He often goes under the radar but his selfless attitude needs to be acknowledged.

An excellent player that was chosen for the Welsh Touch Squad that played in France this week. Unfortunately due to an ACL injury only 6 weeks before he was set to travel, his dreams were dashed this year. But in his true selfless style he’s utilised his extra time and dedicated all his time and efforts into the development of the Sheild Maidens. He’s taken on the role of not only head coach but pretty much Team managed, arranging all fixtures for the ladies and arrangements for hosting in the absence of our usual club house.

He’s even put on extra sessions for the girl’s recently. Coaching women is a hard feat in itself as they are an unruly bunch but he often doesn’t realise that his efforts are very much appreciated by all.

Raise a glass to the one and only Mig and let’s wish him a speedy recovery to get him back to full fitness ready for the nationals next year and the World Cup 2028 🍻 🏉 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
