πΏ Free food is growing right under our feet! πΏ
Wild rocket is one of my favourite urban foraging finds. With its deeply lobed leaves and spicy, peppery flavour, it can often be found growing from cracks in pavements, walls, and other disturbed ground throughout the UK.
In this reel, I'm showing you how to identify wild rocket and harvest it responsibly. A handful of fresh leaves can add a punch of flavour to salads, sandwiches, pesto, and moreβall completely free.
β οΈ Always be 100% certain of your identification before eating any wild plant, and avoid harvesting from areas that may be contaminated by traffic, pesticides, or dog fouling.

π Mushroom Tip: Lilac Oysterling - Panus conchatus π
One of the prettiest fungi you'll find on a woodland walk, the Lilac Oysterling stands out with its beautiful lilac-purple tones and delicate oyster-shaped caps.
You'll usually find it growing in clusters on dead and decaying wood, where it plays an important role in breaking down timber and recycling nutrients back into the ecosystem.
π Key features: β’ Lilac to violet-coloured caps β’ Oyster-like shape β’ Grows in overlapping clusters β’ Found on dead wood, especially during the cooler months
While it's a stunning fungus to photograph, always be 100% confident with any mushroom identification before considering consumption.
