Next up in our Meet the Committee series is Ben, our Welfare Officer! 💙🌊

As Welfare Officer, Ben is the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns, ensuring everything is handled correctly and in line with club governance.

He acts independently to always prioritise the wellbeing of our members, making sure everyone feels heard, respected and supported.

Ben also oversees DBS checks and safeguarding training. He helps maintain a clear Code of Conduct for members, coaches and the committee.

Behind the scenes, he works to keep the club inclusive and welcoming for all, while handling matters with complete confidentiality and care.

Thanks to Ben, our club remains a safe, supportive environment where everyone can enjoy their time at OTS Brighton & Hove.

🌈 Next up in our Meet the Committee series is Timothy!

As our Co-Membership Secretary, Timothy helps keep our club connected and welcoming. He works closely with LB to support members at every stage, from first enquiry to regular swim sessions.

Timothy helps manage memberships, keeps member records up to date and makes sure new swimmers feel at ease when joining the club. He’s also a key point of contact for members, supporting with questions and competitions. Many of you will have met him at check in on Saturday, where he welcomes everyone with a friendly smile.

Behind the scenes he helps coordinate attendance, supports recruitment initiatives like Bring a Friend and Pride, and works with the committee to make sure the club continues to grow and thrive.

And his final set hype song? 🎶 The Hills Are Alive from The Sound of Music. Emotional, powerful and definitely memorable. A classic tune for that final length.

🌈Up next in our Meet the Committee series is Isaac, our Treasurer!

Isaac makes sure all the numbers add up and keeps our club financially healthy. From keeping the budget on track to chasing invoices and membership fees, he’s got it covered.

He also liaises with pool management, sends emergency notifications, works closely with our Membership Secretaries and navigates club software like a pro.

On top of that, Isaac helps prepare business cases and keeps the Committee informed on all financial matters.

Thanks to Isaac, our club stays financially healthy and ready for all the swims, socials and events you love! 💙
And his final set hype song? No Broke Boys by Disco Lines. It's giving rich club energy! 💸🎶

🌈 Next up in our Meet the Committee series is Thomas!

As our Secretary, Thomas helps keep the committee organised and running smoothly behind the scenes. From preparing meeting agendas and recording minutes to keeping track of decisions and actions.

He also helps manage important club information and supports the committee with governance, meeting coordination and member notices.

Alongside the Secretary role, Thomas also lends a hand with club communications, helping keep members informed about what’s happening around the club.

Calm organiser, great communicator and a key part of keeping things flowing.

Final set hype song? 🎶 Take On Me by a-ha. A strong choice for that last push to the wall.

🌟Happy International Women’s Day 🌟

Today we celebrate the women of Out To Swim Brighton & Hove.

International Women’s Day is about recognising women’s achievements, championing equality and creating spaces where women feel supported, confident and able to thrive.

At OTSBH we love swimming in the pool, but outside of the pool our women's representative, Pippa has been busy organising some brilliant events. Last summer we enjoyed the pride parade and more recently we've been chatting over bunch, relaxing in the sauna and sunning ourselves on Hove Promenade.

We're proud of creating an inclusive environment where women can swim, socialise and find community. We will be organising more fun activities for our women's inclusive group. So stayed tuned!

We are in Block G in today's parade

When the pool closed 5 minutes before the session, only one thing to do is.. head to the beach.

Congratulations to our Brighton coach, Andy, on his solo swim across the English channel today completed in 14:10. Fantastic achievement, especially as this dekayed from last year. Andy kept the training up all year long.
